Am 20.06.1963 ist das Wracksuchschiff Atair in der Elbe auf das Wrack „Ceres“ gelaufen und gesunken. Der Unfall ist darauf zurückzuführen, dass die zur Bezeichnung des Wracks ausliegende Tonne an der falschen Seite passiert worden ist.
Mit Bergungsarbeiten wurde am 23.06.1963 begonnen.
Nach erfolgter Reparatur war die Atair ab Dezember wieder einsatzbereit.
