• The functionality “Plan return” stipulates the necessary set values for return to the 
original set track. This functionality is thus of the “Data recording” type. 
• The functionality “Execute return” corrects the ship’s state variables (course and 
speed) with the aim of monitoring the planned route for return to the original set track. 
It is thus of the “Influencing state variables” type. 
• The functionality “Monitor return” is of the “Set/actual comparison” type. It determines 
the deviation between the ship’s current state variables (position, course, voyage) and 
the set data for the planned route to return to the set track.
