Object data
Checked:
1. Origin
• The source of the transmitted object data must be known. Each object must be uniquely
assignable to the particular data supplier.
2. Validity
• Object data should be checked for their validity. The result of the check must be made
available to processing procedures.
3. Quality
• The object data displayed must be sufficiently up-to-date. The necessary updating rate is de
pendent on the relative speed between observed object and own vehicle.
• Object data from differing sources should be checked for consistency.
• Possible deviations as regards the position and movement of an object which has been located
by different sensors should be borne in mind. This applies particularly if a display
unit (e.g. ECDIS) is connected with different sensors for object identification.
4. Harmonisation
• The display and indexing of observed objects must be identical on all display equipment.
5. Criticality
6. Limit values and alarm facilities
• Alarm on loss of information concerning objects.
