4.2.2.2.3 Checking track 
Process 1.2.3 - “Checking track” models the process of checking all parameters which describe the 
track. Processes 1.2.3.1 and 1.2.3.5 here show in particular the local reference of the track. The proc 
ess “Check available space” checks whether the planned track can actually be followed (“Physical navi 
gability” of the track) bearing in mind the dimensions of the ship (data flow “Ship data”). “Check naviga 
bility” investigates whether the track may be followed (“Legal navigability”) bearing in mind the local 
regulations (e.g. waterway limits, traffic separation schemes).
