4.2.2.1.2 Speed/time profile 
Speed/time profiles may be determined both for a route and for a track. Route and track are distin 
guished above ail by their degree of detailing (see DFD 1.1). The input information represented in DFD 
1.1.2 “Route data” and "Track data” (as components of the data type “Voyage plan data”) should there 
fore be considered to be optional. By way of planning basis (data flow “Planning data, track” and “Plan 
ning data, route”), the factors possible are on the one hand given set speeds (eg recommended speeds 
in the region), and on the other hand planned passage and arrival times (eg from the timetable).
