Stellenweise kommt an den Küsten noch morsches 
Eis vor. Auf See ist es eisfrei.

Some rotten ice may still be found in places at the 
coast. At sea it is ice free. 
Gulf of Finland 
Saimaa: The Saimaa Canal is ice free. In the Lake 
Saimaa mainly open water with 10-35 cm thick, rot- 
ten ice in it can be found. 
Expected Ice Development 
In the Bay of Bothnia, temperatures will stay above 
the freezing point; hence, the ice will underlie 
jurther melting. Overnight, light frost may occur 
accasionally, but this will not lead to ice formation. 
The wind blows, partly strong, at first from the north 
and will change to eastern directions in the coming 
days. Overall the ice will continue to loosen up and 
decrease.

Saimaa: Der Saimaa Kanal ist eisfrei. Im Saimaa 
See treibt in meist offenem Wasser 10-35 cm dickes, 
morsches Eis. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In der Bottenwiek liegen die Tagestemperaturen 
Über null Grad, so dass das Eis weiter tauen wird. 
Nachts kann es vereinzelt noch leichten Frost 
geben, der aber nicht zu einer Eiszunahme führt. 
Der Wind weht teilweise stark, zunächst aus 
16ördlichen Richtungen, und dreht dann allmählich 
auf Ost. Insgesamt lockert das Eis weiter auf und 
1immt ab.

’eport their nationality, name, port of destination, ETA and speed to ICE INFO on VHF channel 84. This re- 
port can also be given directly by phone +46 31 699 100. 
icebreaker: KONTIO, OTSO and FREJ assist in the Bay of Bothnia. ISO-PUKKI assists in the northern Lake 
Saimaa.

Vessels bound for ports with traffic restrictions in Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Bjorn (59° 
33'N 20° 01'E) report to ICEINFO on VHF channel 84; Stating ATP, destination and ETA.
