Finnische Küste: Nahezu eisfrei. 
Schwedische Küste: Entlang der Küste liegt in ge- 
schützten Bereichen im Norden 20-40 cm und im 
Süden 10-30 cm dickes, morsch werdendes Eis. Der 
obere Teil des Angermanälven ist mit 20-40 cm di- 
ckem, sehr lockerem, morschen Eis bedeckt. 
Schärenmeer 
Finnische Küste: Nahezu eisfrei. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: Nahezu eisfrei. Im Saimaa See 
und Saimaa Kanal kommt 20-50 cm dickes, teilweise 
morsches Eis vor. 
Russische Küste: Die Wyborg Bucht ist an ihrem 
Ende mit 15-25 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. In ihrer 
Einfahrt treibt 10-15 cm dickes, dichtes Eis. Im Bjer 
kesund ist 10-15 cm dickes, lockeres Eis zu finden. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: Nearly ice free. 
Swedish coast: Along the coast in sheltered are- 
as, there is 20-40 cm thick and rottening ice in the 
north and 10-30 cm thick, rottening ice in the south. 
The upper part of the Angermanälven is covered by 
20-40 cm thick very open, rotten ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
Finnish Coast: In practice ice free 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: Nearly ice free. In Lake Saimaa 
and Saimaa Canal there is 20-50 cm thick, partly 
rotten ice. 
Russian Coast: The top of the Vyborg Bay is cov- 
sred by 15-25 cm thick fast ice. In its entrance, 10- 
15 cm thick close drift ice is found. In the Strait 
Bjerkesund 10-15 cm thick, open ice is present. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Mälarsee: Im Westen gibt es noch sehr lockeres 
morsches Eis, sonst nur noch offenes Wasser. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In der Bottenwiek schwanken die Temperaturen um 
den Gefriepunkt, daher wird sich die Eissituation dort 
licht wesentlich verändern. Ansonsten steigen die 
Temperaturen teilweise in den zweistelligen Bereich, 
so das vorhandenes Resteis in den südlicheren 
Schären und im Finnischen Meerbusen weiter 
abschmelzen wird. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Lake Mälaren: In the westernmost part there is 
some very rotten open ice. Else open water occurs. 
Expected Ice Development 
In the Bay of Bothnia, temperatures will vary 
around 0°C. Here, the ice situation is not expected 
*o change significantly over the next days. Else, 
'emperatures partly rise above 10°C and the 
remaining rest ice in the southern archipelagos and 
in the Gulf of Finland will further melt.

The Saimaa Canal has been opened for traffic on 9" of April. 
Vessels bound for Gulf of Bothnia ports in which traffic restrictions apply shall, when passing Svenska Björn, 
’eport their nationality, name, port of destination, ETA and speed to ICE INFO on VHF channel 84. This re- 
port can also be given directly by phone +46 31 699 100. 
icebreaker: KONTIO, OTSO and FREJ assist in the Bay of Bothnia. PROTECTOR assists in the northern 
_ake Saimaa. METEOR assists in the southern Lake Saimaa.
