Übersicht 
Die Eissituation ist nahezu unverändert. In der 
3ottenwiek liegt in den Schären Festeis. Im Nordost- 
:eil kommt 20-75 cm dickes, kompaktes und aufge- 
presstes Treibeis etwa bis Kalajoki vor. Südlich von 
Skelleftea und Kokkola bis hin zur zentralen Ostsee 
st nur noch in Küstennähe Eis zu finden. Im Mälar- 
see kommt überwiegend offenes Wasser und mor- 
sches Eis und im Rigaischen Meerbusen nur noch 
Resteis vor. Im Finnischen Meerbusen liegt dichtes 
bis sehr dichtes Eis oder Festeis in Küstennähe. 
Bottenwiek 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
40-70 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Daran schließt 
sich 40-70 cm dickes, kompaktes und aufgepresstes 
Treibeis bis Kemi 2 und Oulu 5 an. Weiter südlich 
treibt dann 40-70 cm dickes, aufgepresstes und 
kompaktes Eis. Die Eiskante ist bei Falkensgrund zu 
inden, wo sich eine Trümmereisbarriere gebildet 
ı1at. Die südlichen Schären sind mit 25-45 cm di- 
ckem Festeis bedeckt. Abseits davon kommt 20-40 
cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis bis etwa 22 sm west- 
südwestlich von Nahkiainen vor. An der Eiskante hat 
sich eine Trümmereisbarriere gebildet. Südlich von 
Jikokalla ist 5-20 cm dickes Treibeis mit unter- 
schiedlicher Konzentration und noch weiter südlich 
offenes Wasser zu finden. 
Schwedische Küste: In den Schären kommt 30-65 
cm dickes Festeis vor. Abseits des nördlichen Fest- 
eises liegt 30-60 cm dickes zusammengeschobenes 
Eis. Weiter südlich treibt sehr dichtes Eis, das im 
Norden 30-50 cm dick und moderat aufgepresst und 
m Süden 15-40 cm dick ist. Südlich von Nygrän und 
1ördlich vom Leuchtturm Kokkola kommt abwech- 
selnd offenes Wasser und lockeres bis dichtes 
Overview 
The ice situation is virtually unchanged. In the Bay 
of Bothnia fast ice is present in the archipelagos. 
in the north-eastern part there is 20-75 cm 
compact and ridged drift ice up to about Kalajoki. 
South of Skelleftea and Kokkola up to the central 
Baltic Sea, ice is only present close to the coasts. 
In Lake Mälaren open water and rotten ice occurs 
and in the Gulf of Riga only rest ice is found. In 
the Gulf of Finland there is close to very close ice 
or fast ice close to the coasts. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered by fast ice with a thickness of 40-70 cm. 
Farther out 40-70 cm compact and ridged drift ice 
follows up to about Kemi 2 and QOulu 5. Further 
south there is 40-70 cm thick, ridged and compact 
drift ice. The ice edge is located in Falkensgrund. 
Along the edge, a brash ice barrier has formed. 
The southern archipelagos are covered by 25-45 
am thick fast ice. Farther out 20-40 cm thick very 
close ice can be found up to 22 nm west-south- 
westward of Nahkiainen. At the ice edge a brash 
ice barrier has formed. South of Ulkokalla drift ice 
with a thickness of 5-20 cm and with varying con- 
zentration is present and further south open water 
ıS found. 
Swedish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 30-65 
m thick fast ice. Off the northern fast ice edge 
ihere is 30-60 cm thick consolidated ice. Further 
south there is very close drift ice, 30-50 cm thick 
and with moderate pressure and frequent ridges in 
the north and 15-40 cm thick ice in the south.
