Norra Kvarken 
In den Schären von Vaasa und nahe der schwedi- 
schen Küste liegt 20-40 cm dickes Festeis. Weiter 
außerhalb im Osten überwiegend offenes Wasser 
Bei Norrskär treibt 5-20cm dickes, lockeres bis sehr 
ockeres Eis, welches sich teilweise bis Sydostbrot- 
ten erstreckt. Westlich der Linie Nordvalen - Stora 
Fjäderägg ist dichtes bis sehr dichtes, 10-35 cm 
dickes Treibeis zu finden. Südöstlich davon kommt 
meist offenes Wasser vor.

dish coast, 20-40 cm thick fast ice occurs. Further 
out there is mainly open water in the east. Off 
Norrskär and stretching almost up to Sydostbrotten 
here is 5-20cm thick, open to very oen ice. West of 
ihe line Nordvalen - Stora Fjäderägg there is close 
to very close, 10-35 cm thick drift ice. South-east of 
this line there is mostly open water. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt 20-40 cm 
dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon offenes Wasser. 
Schwedische Küste: Entlang der nördlichen Küste 
‘legt in geschützten Bereichen 10-30 cm dickes dich- 
tes bis sehr dichtes Eis. Im Süden kommt dünnes, 
dichtes Eis vor. Der Angermanälven ist mit 20-40 cm 
dickem, lockerem bis sehr dichtem Eis bedeckt. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 20-40 
thick fast ice. Farther out there is open water. 
Swedish coast: Along the northern coast, there is 
10-30 cm thick close to very close ice in sheltered 
areas. In the south, thin close ice occurs. The 
Angermanälven is covered by 20-40 cm thick open 
to very close ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago there is 
thin ice in places. In the fairways mostly open water 
can be found. 
Swedish coast: Rotten ice occurs along the coast. 
Schärenmeer 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
stellenweise dünnes Eis vor. Im Fahrwasser ist 
überwiegend offenes Wasser zu finden. 
Schwedische Küste: Entlang der Küste findet man 
morsches Eis. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt im 
Westen dünnes und im Osten 20-40 cm dickes 
Festeis vor. In den äußeren Schären kommt im Wes- 
ten überwiegend offenes Wasser vor, im Osten treibt 
Eis in verschiedenen Bedeckungsgraden bis etwa 
Aalli — Seskar - Sepelevskij. 
Russische Küste: Von den Häfen von St. Peters- 
burg bis zur Insel Kotlin kommt 15-30 cm dickes, 
sehr dichtes und zum Teil aufgetürmtes Treibeis vor. 
Anschließend folgt bis etwa 29°02°O 10-20 cm di- 
ckes, lockeres Eis. Die Wyborg Bucht ist an ihrem 
Ende mit 20-30 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. In der 
Einfahrt treibt sehr dichtes Eis, 10-20 cm dick. Im 
Bjerkesund treibt 15-25 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis. 
Die Einfahrt ist mit dichtem, 10-15 cm dickem Treib- 
eis bedeckt. 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos thin fast 
ce occurs in the western and 20-40 cm thick fast 
ce in the eastern part. In the outer archipelagos 
there is mostly open water in the west and in the 
gast drift ice with varying concentration is found out 
to about Halli — Seskar - Sepelevskij. 
Russian Coast: From the harbours of St. Peters- 
burg up to the island Kotlin the sea is covered by 
15-30 cm thick very close and partly hummocked 
drift ice. Further out there is 10-20 cm thick open 
ce up to about 29°02’E. The top of the Vyborg Bay 
s covered by 20-30 cm thick fast ice and in the en- 
trance there is 10-20 cm thick very close ice. In the 
Strait Bjerkesund, 15-25 cm thick very close drift 
ce is found, with 10-15 cm thick, close drift ice in 
the entrance. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is a belt of 
Jp to 13 cm thick rotten fast ice. Further up to Ma- 
2ılaid - Kabli open to very close drift ice is present. 
Further on the fairway is ice free. There is open wa- 
ter in Moonsund. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Along the Swedish coast there is rotten ice in some 
sheltered northern bays. 
Lake Mälaren: The ice is becoming rotten. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnubucht liegt ein Gürte! 
aus bis zu 13 cm dicekem, morschem Festeis. Da- 
nach folgt bis Manilaid - Kabli lockeres bis sehr dich- 
tes Treibeis. Weiter außerhalb ist das Fahrwasser 
eisfrei. Im Moonsund offenes Wasser. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
An der schwedischen Küste kommt in geschützten 
1ördlichen Buchten morsches Eis vor. 
Mälarsee: Morsch werdendes Eis.
