Übersicht 
In der Bottenwiek liegt in den Schären Festeis, im 
Nordteil 40-70 cm dickes, kompaktes und aufge- 
presstes Treibeis, im Osten kommt dann in Richtung 
Süden bis etwa Kallan 15-40cm dickes Eis vor. Wei- 
:er südlich, im Westen schon ab Bjuröklubb dann 
neist offenes Wasser. In Norra Kvarken findet sich 
an den Küsten abseits des Festeises örtlich sehr 
dichtes Eises, weiter außerhalb aber überwiegend 
offenes Wasser. Weiter südlich liegt Eis unterschied- 
icher Konzentration in den Schären und in Küsten- 
1ähe bis zur zentralen Ostsee und dem Rigaischen 
Meerbusen. 
Bottenwiek 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
40-70 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Daran schließt 
sich 40-70 cm dickes, kompaktes und aufgepresstes 
Treibeis bis Kemi 1 und Oulu 5 an, gefolgt von 30-60 
cm dickem, sehr dichtem Eis. Das Eisfeld ist aufge- 
presst und steht unter Druck. Die südlichen Schären 
sind mit 20-45 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außer- 
1alb davon kommt 15-30 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis 
is nach etwa 63°57’N vor, weiter südlich meist of- 
;‚enes Wasser. 
Schwedische Küste: In den Schären kommt 30-65 
cm dickes Festeis vor. Abseits des nördlichen Fest- 
geises liegt 40-60 cm dickes zusammengeschobenes 
Eis. Eine 1-3sm breite Rinne verläuft von Nygrän 
lber Kadetten und Malören nach Kemi-1. Westlich 
von Farstugrund-Bjuröklubb ist 10-30 cm dickes sehr 
dichtes Eis zu finden. Östlich davon kommt sehr 
dichtes, 30-50 cm dickes, aufgepresstes Eis im Nor- 
den und 15-40 cm dickes Eis im Süden vor. Im Ge- 
biet zwischen Skellefteäa — Bjuröklubb und Rata 
Storagrund kommt offenes Wasser vor. 
Overview 
ın the Bay of Bothnia fast ice is present In the 
archipelagos. In the northern part there is 40-70 
cm compact and ridged drift ice, In the east 15- 
40cm thick ice stretches southwards up to Kallan. 
-urther south, in the western part even south of 
Bjuröklubb, there is mostly open water. In Norra 
Kvarken there is mostly open water outside the 
‘ast ice in the archipelagos and the close ice near 
the coasts. Further south, ice with variable 
concentration can be found in the archipelagos 
and close to the coasts up to the central Baltic 
Sea and the Gulf of Riga. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered by fast ice with a thickness of 40-70 cm. 
-arther out there is 40-70 cm compact and ridged 
drift ice up to about Kemi 1 and Oulu 5. Further out 
‘here is 30-60 cm thick very close ice. The ice field 
Ss ridged and under pressure. The southern archi- 
pelagos are covered by 20-45 cm thick fast ice.

Swedish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 30-65 
cm thick fast ice. Off the northern fast ice edge 
there is 40-60 cm thick consolidated ice. A lead 
‘uns from Nygrän over Kadetten and Malören to- 
wards Kemi-1. West of the line Farstugrun- 
Bjuröklubb, 10-30 cm very close ice occurs. East of 
‘he line there is very close and ridged ice, which is 
30-50 cm thick in the north and 15-40 cm in the 
south. In the area between Skellefteä — Bjuröklubb 
and Rata Storgrund open water occurs.
