Norra Kvarken 
In den Schären von Vaasa und nahe der schwedi- 
schen Küste liegt 15-40 cm dickes Festeis. Weiter 
außerhalb kommt stellenweise 5-30 cm dickes 
Treibeis bis etwa Norrskär vor. Westlich von Hol- 
moarna liegt 15-30 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis. 
Nördlich von Nordvalen ist abwechselnd 10-25 cm 
sehr lockeres und dichtes Treibeis zu finden. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
10-35 cm dickes Festeis vor, an dessen Kante stel- 
.‚enweise dünnes, sehr dichtes Eis, Neueis und Eis- 
breiklümpchen vorkommt. 
Schwedische Küste: Entlang der Küste kommt in 
geschützten Bereichen 10-40 cm dickes Festeis oder 
sehr dichtes Eis im Norden und dünnes lockeres bis 
dichtes Eis im Süden vor. Der Ängermanälven ist mit 
15-40 cm dickem ebenen Eis oder Festeis bedeckt. 
Schärenmeer 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
dünnes Eis vor. Im Fahrwasser ist überwiegend 
offenes Wasser oder sehr lockeres Eis zu finden. 
Schwedische Küste: Dünnes, lockeres oder dichtes 
Eis treibt entlang der Küste. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären entlang 
der finnischen Küste kommt im Westen dünnes und 
m Osten 15-40 cm dickes Festeis vor. In den äuße- 
‚en Schären im Westen kommt überwiegend offenes 
Wasser oder sehr lockeres Eis vor. In den östlichen 
Äußeren Schären liegt 5-25 cm dickes, sehr lockeres 
Eis. 
Russische Küste: Die Häfen von St. Petersburg 
sind bis zur Insel Kotlin mit 25-35 cm dickem, sehr 
dichtem, driftendem Eis bedeckt. Anschließend folgt 
bis zum westlichen Teil der Insel Bolshoy Beresovi] 
10-20 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Treibeis. Stellenweise 
nat sich das Eis aufgetürmt. Die Wyborg Bucht ist mit 
20-30 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. In der Einfahrt 
iegt sehr dichtes Treibeis, 10-15 cm dick. Im Bjerke- 
sund liegt 15-25 cm dickes Festeis. Die Einfahrt ist 
mit dichtem, 10-15 cm dickem Treibeis bedeckt. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnubucht liegt bis zu 21 
cm dickes Festeis. Stellenweise haben sich Risse 
gebildet. Danach folgt bis Someri-Sorgu- 
Häädemeeste dichtes, driftendes Eis mit Aufpres- 
sungen. Im Fahrwasser ist offenes Wasser zu fin- 
den. Im Moonsund liegt sehr dichtes und aufgetürm- 
tes Treibeis bis etwa Kessulaid-Vormsi. Westlich 
davon kommt sehr lockeres Treibeis und offenes 
Wasser vor. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Litauische Küste: Im Hafen von Klaipeda kommt

dish coast, 15-40 cm thick fast ice occurs. Further 
aut there is 5-30 cm thick drift ice in places up to 
Norrskär. West of Holmoarna there is 15-30 cm, 
very close ice. North of Nordvalen there is 10-25 
cm thick, alternating very open and close drift ice. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos there is 
10-35 thick fast ice, at its edge there is thin, very 
close ice, new ice and shuga in places. 
Swedish coast: Along the coast, there is in shel- 
tered areas 10-40 cm thick fast ice or very close ice 
in the north and thin open to close ice in the south. 
The Ängermanälven is covered by 15-40 cm level 
ice or fast ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago there is 
thin ice. In the fairways mostly open water or very 
apen ice occurs. 
Swedish coast: Thin open or close drift ice occurs 
along the coast. 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos of the 
Finnish coast thin level and new ice occurs in the 
west and 15-40 cm thick fast ice in the eastern part. 
In the outer archipelagos there is open water or 
very open ice in the west, and 5-25 cm thick very 
open ice in the east. 
Russian Coast: The harbours of St. Petersburg 
are covered by 25-35 cm thick very close drift ice 
up to the island Kotlin. Off this ice, there is 10-20 
cm thick, very close drift ice up to the western part 
of the island Bolshoy Beresovij. In some areas 
there is hummocked ice. The Vyborg Bay is cov- 
ered by 20-30 cm thick fast ice. In the entrance to 
the bay, there is very close, 10-15 cm thick drift ice. 
In the Strait Bjerkesund, 15-25 cm thick fast ice is 
found. In the entrance there is 10-15 cm thick, 
close drift ice. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is up to 21 
cm thick fast ice. Locally there are cracks in the ice. 
Further up to Someri-Sorgu-Häädemeeste close 
drift ice and ridged ice is present. Further on the 
‘airway there is open water. In Moonsund there is 
very close and hummocked ice up to approximately 
Kessulaid-Vormsi. Further to the west, very open 
drift ice and open water occur.
