Übersicht 
in der Bottenwiek ist nur noch ein kleiner, zentraler 
Teil eisfrei, Norra Kvarken ist vollständig eisbedeckt 
Jnd in der Bottensee kommt entlang der Küste Neu- 
eis vor. Der Finnische Meerbusen ist Östlich von 
26°30'°0 sowie nördlich von 60°N von Eis bedeckt. 
An geschützten Stellen entlang der Küste kommt bis 
7in zum Skagerrak örtlich Eis vor. 
Bottenwiek 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind mit 25-55 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt, daran schließt sich 5-25 cm 
dickes, sehr dichtes Eis mit örtlichen Presseisrü- 
cken. an. Weiter außerhalb liegt dichtes bis sehr 
dichtes 10-35 cm dickes Eis bis etwa der Linie Kemi 
— Valassaaret. 
Schwedische Küste: In den Schären kommt 20-50 
cm dickes Festeis vor. Außerhalb davon kommt 
zuerst 5-15cm dickes, ebenes Eis bis zur Linie Bju- 
‚Öklubb - Rodkallen, dann 15-25cm dickes, sehr 
dichtes Eis. Von Bjuröklubb südwarts treibt ein Gür- 
tel aus 5-15cm dicken, dichten Eis und weiter außen 
dann lockeres Eis mit einigen gröberen Schollen. 
Norra Kvarken 
in den Schären von Vaasa liegt 15-30 cm dickes 
Festeis. Weiter außerhalb kommt nordöstlich von 
\ordvalen 5-15 cm dickes sehr dichtes Eis und 
Neueis vor. Die Eisgrenze liegt etwa 18sm nordöst- 
ich von Sydostbrotten. Südwestlich von Nordvalen 
ijegt dünnes, ebenes sowie dichtes Eis. 
Overview 
ın the Bay of Bothnia only a small central part is still 
ce free, Norra Kvarken is almost completely ice 
covered. In the Sea of Bothnia stirpes with new ice 
stretch along the coasts. The Gulf of Finland is ice 
covered approximately east of 26°30’E and north of 
60°N. At sheltered areas along the coast ice can be 
found up to the Skagerrak. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: The archipelagos are covered by 
Fast ice with a thickness of 25-55 cm. Off the fast 
ce there is 5-25 cm very close to compact ice, 
idged in places. Farther out there is close to very 
ce, 10-35 cm thick ice, approximately out to the 
‚ine Kemi — Valassaaret. 
Swedish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 20-50 
cm thick fast ice. Further out there is at first 5-15cm 
thick level ice up to about the line Bjuröklubb — 
Aodkallen, followed by 15-25cm thick, very close 
ce. From Bjuröklubb to the south there is a belt of 
5-15cm thick, close drifting ice and further out then 
open ice with some heavier floes. 
Norra Kvarken 
In the Vaasa archipelagos 15-30 cm thick fast ice 
occurs. Further out there is 5-15 cm thick very 
close ice and new ice northeast of Nordvalen. The 
ce edge is found around 18mm northeast of 
Sydostbrotten. Southwest of Nordvalen there is thin 
levels as well as close ice. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
10-30 cm dickes Festeisvor , außerhalb davon treibt 
örtlich dünnes. zusammenhängendes Eis. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos there is 
10-30 thick fast ice, further out there is thin com- 
pact ice in places.
