Abstract
A monitoring cruise into the southern and western Baltic Sea was conducted from August
22nd to 27th 1997. Additionally to the routine stations of the German and Baltic Monitoring
Program, the Pomeranian Bight was investigated more thoroughly in order to study possible
influences of the Oder flood. Water samples were investigated for petroleum hydrocarbons,
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons (HCH, DDT-group, PCB).
At the stations investigated no distinct effect in the concentrations of the organic contaminats
could be detected.
