The Deutsche Ozeanographische Datenzentrum (DOD) - (German Oceanographic 
Data Centre) - which is affiliated With the Deutsches Hydrographisches 
Institut and is operated in conjunction with the German Research Associ 
ation, has extended its data archive to about 7.8 million physical and 
chemical measurement values. In the year under review, many home and 
foreign visitors again made enquiries concerning the work of the DHI. 
The visit of the Federal Minister of Transport, Dr. Volker Hauff, on 3rd 
December, was of particular importance.
