lution of the revolving light on Skervuile or 
Iron rock, Sound of Jura. 
The flash every minute, will be changed 
to a flash every half minute.

Minuten eintretenden Blinke, alle halbe Mi 
nuten gezeigt werden.

With reference to Notice to Mariners, 
No. 74, dated 18th July 1870, respecting the 
discovery of a shoal sand patch W. S. W. 
8 miles from the North end of the town of 
Mocha and near the fairway track of ship 
ping bound up or down the Red Sea, — 
Information has been received from the 
Navigating Lieutenant of II. M. S. Malabar, 
and from the Master of the Peninsular and 
Oriental Company's S. S. Hind os tan, that 
the said shoal does not exist in the position 
assigned to it by the master of the S. S. 
Priam, a mistake having been made in the 
mountain of which the cross bearings were 
taken. 
The shoal described by the Master of the 
Priam is, doubtless, the well known one 
lying in nearly the same direction from Mocha, 
distant 3 3 /4 miles. 
The assumed shoal has been removed from 
the charts.

In Betreff der Entdeckung einer Sand 
bank, 8 Seem. WSW von dem nördlichen 
Ende der Stadt Mocha und in der Nähe des 
Fahrwassers, das die Schiffe beim Passiren 
des rothen Meeres benutzen, wird bekannt'ge 
macht, dass nach den Angaben des Obser 
vations-Offiziers J. Brit. M. S. Malabar und 
des Master des Dampfers der Peninsular 
und Oriental-Compagnie Hindostán, diese Un 
tiefe nicht auf der Stelle liegt, welche der 
Master des Dampfers Priam angegeben hat, 
es muss ein Irrthum in Bezug auf den Berg, 
der bei den Kreuzpeilungen benutzt worden 
ist, stattgefunden haben. 
Die von dem Master des Priam be 
schriebene Untiefe ist unzweifelhaft diejenige, 
welche, als hinlänglich bekannt, beinahe in 
derselben Richtung von Mocha, o 3 /4 Seem. 
entfernt, liegt. 
Die angenommene Sandbank ist von den 
Admiralitäts-Karten entfernt.
