During thick or foggy weather, a fog 
signal, consisting of a siren, operated by 
steam, will be sounded for 5 seconds, at 
intervals of 25 seconds. 
The bell now used as a fog signal will 
not be withdrawn, and, in case of any de 
rangement of the machinery of the steam 
signal, will be used ¡is a substitute.

Notice is hereby given, that on and after 
the evening of the 1st January, 1870. the 
present white light at l-azaretto Point, har 
bor of Baltimore. Maryland, irill be changed 
to red. 
Also, that at the same time, will he put 
in operation a fog signal, consisting of a bell 
struck by a hammer actuated by a Stevens' 
striking apparatus. A blow will be struck 
every ten seconds, during thick or foggy 
weather.
