Alteration of Jiaplin .Spit buoy.
The Trinity House, London, has given
Notice, that in consequence of the Maplin
sand having extended in a southerly direction
from the lighthouse, the Maplin Spit buoy
has been moved one cable to the southward,
and has been changed from a can to a conical
buoy with staff and globe.
The buoy now lies in 15 fathoms at low
water springs with the Maplin lighthouse
bearing N. E. */«o °T a mile and Maplin buoy
W. 4 S. l*/io miles.
As Maplin spit has become dangerous,
mariners are cautioned to give the lighthouse
a wide berth in passing.
