bearing N. by E. to N. N\ E„ and the red light
on the jetty from E. by S. to E. S. E. in 5 fa
thoms. sand.

€ hmigr in the position of llgiir*
.llurto light.
The French Government has given Notice,
that from the 1st day of .January 18GW, the
following change in the position of the light
at Aigues Mortes, Gulf of Lyon would take
place:
file light would be removed to Point»* tie
l’Espignette, about 3 miles S. \ W. from its
former position.
The light (as before) is fixed and Jlas/dng,
showing a flash, preceded by a short eclipse,
every four minutes. It is elevated 85 feet
above the sea, and in clear weather should
be seen from a distance of 14 miles.
The position, as given, is in lat. 43 2D'
Ifi N.. long. 4 8 54" East from Greenwich.
The entrance of Gran d’Aigues Mortes
will continue to be lighted by a small fixed
red light on the head of the North-west jetty,
and visible 5 miles.
