Konsequente Weiterentwicklung - 
Informationssystem NAUTHIS 
Mit NAUTHIS, dem Nautisch-Hydrographischen 
Informationssystem, baut das BSH für die deutschen 
Seegebiete ein neues geographisches Informations 
system auf, in dem alle Informationen, die zur Her 
stellung digitaler oder analoger Seekarten und Hand 
bücher notwendig sind, zentral gesammelt und aktu 
ell gehalten werden können. Allerdings wurde spä 
testens mit Einführung des amtlichen digitalen See 
kartensystems ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and 
Information System) anstelle konventioneller Papier 
karten, auch eines deutlich: Die Anforderungen an 
die topographische Genauigkeit der Daten und die 
Vielseitigkeit der Nutzungsmöglichkelten können be 
reits mittelfristig nicht mehr allein mit digitalen Daten 
erfüllt werden, die aus Papierseekarten abgeleitet 
worden sind.
