which also affects the activities of the BSH. Owing to
the high quality of its products and services and its

Flexible: use of controlling measures
Flexibility is needed to meet future challenges and
achieve further improvements of performance de
spite continued budget consolidation. Quality and
customer orientation, responsible use of resources
and cost-effectiveness are factors that will decide
whether planning can be adjusted in time to chang
ing requirements, and are thus important competitive
factors. In order to optimise its productivity and
efficiency, the BSH has defined quality standards for
over 160 products and services which have been
assessed systematically, since 1995, on the basis of
a recognised quality management system. Also prod
uct-related cost/efficiency analyses, a comprehen
sive controlling system, and audits as part of the
internal revision system have been developed further.
The BSH's human resources are a prerequisite to its
success. Therefore, the BSH's management and spe
cialist personnel regularly attend training courses
and seminars, which are an indispensable part of its
personnel management system.
