checked for compliance with the ISPS Code.
• Agreements were concluded with classification
companies which, as recognised security organi
zations, perform shipboard inspections on behalf
of the BSH.
• The BSH approved the first Ship Security Plans
after several weeks' shipboard testing as required.
• The first International Ship Security Certificate
(ISSC) was issued to the cruise ship “Deutschland”.

avoid hazards to shipping and the marine environ
