STRONG
- also in recreational boating
A high level of safety awareness in
recreational boating is the best way
to ensure that water sports can be
enjoyed without taking any unneces
sary risks. This requires proper
voyage preparation, carriage of
up-to-date nautical charts, and a
thorough check-up of the boat and
its technical equipment. To be on the
safe side, recreational boaters should
use the BSH's nautical publications,
especially its 16 small-craft chart
series and navigational equipment
bearing the BSH certification label.
The BSH’s special online chart
correction service with downloadable
block corrections, which allows chart
updates to be made at any time,
is particularly useful to small craft
operators. By using this service,
recreational boaters exercise circum
spection and responsibility for their
crew and themselves; to put it briefly:
they practice good seamanship.
