the Geodyne current meters (Richaärdson-type) were me-
chanically read and evaluated at the company, neverthe-
less a careful manual check had to be applied, especial-
ly for errors in the time base, The Hydrowerkstätten
current meter records (Flachsee- and Tiefsee-type) were
read and evaluated at the Deutsches Hydrographisches In-
stitut, as well as the records of the tide-gauges and
bottom temperature recorders, All data are now stored on
magnetic tape at the Deutsches Hydrographisches Institut.
The in-line pressure and temperature recorders did not
perform sufficiently, so that their data can only be
used supplementarily,
Besides 1088 of instruments by fishermen action several
unussble records of all types of instruments employed
account for the loss of data-rate of this cruise, The fi-
nal data of the moored instruments of this cruise are pre-
sented in time series, progressive vector diagrams and
spectra, first showing all data from the"Southern (Deep)
Triangle" and second showing those of the "Northern
(Shelf) Triangle",
3. Time Series
The current meter records show a predominant tidal in-
fluence of semi-diurnal period in both the southern (deep)
triangle and the northern (shelf) triangle, Maximum ve=-
locities in the southern triangle occasionally reach
75-80 ecm/sec in 130 m depth whereas the surface layer in
the northern (shelf) triangle indicates velocities of about
110 em/sec in 18 m depth. In the southern (deep) triangle
the current oscillates mainly around northerly directions
but for the bottom record at station (11), which gives a
main direction of flow of about 2459, comparing well with
the position of the near-by shelf edge. The record (11.2)
is given only for informative purposes as it is spoiled
by sensor jamming. Contrary to the directional pattern in
the current of the southern (deep) triangle we find almost
