Achtung: Einzelne auf See treibende grobe 
Eisblöcke erfordern vorsichtiges Navigieren bei 
schlechten Sichtverhältnissen und in den 
Nachtstunden. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Der nördliche Ostseeraum wird bis Sonntag unter 
Hochdruckeinfluss bleiben. Die Lufttemperaturen im 
3Zereich der Bottenvik werden in der Nacht um 10© 
iegen, tagsüber werden sie auf die Werte zwischen 
'2 und 17 © ansteigen. Das Eis auf See wird 
ÄIberwiegend südwärts treiben, sich dabei auflockern 
Jnd weiter schmelzen. Ab Sonntag wird das Wetter 
im Nordteil des Bottnischen Meerbusens durch ein 
Tief bestimmt, das sich vom Norwegischen Meer 
südostwärts verlagert. Trotz kühler Witterung wird 
sich der Eisrückgang relativ schnell fortsetzen. 
Der nächste Eisbericht erscheint am Dienstag, den 
25. Mai 2010.

time and in conditions of poor visibility. 
Expected Ice Development 
The northern region of the Baltic Sea will remain 
Under influence of high pressure until Sunday. Air 
temperatures in the region of the Bay of Bothnia 
will reach the values around 10© in the night and 
between 12 and 17© during the day time. The ice 
at sea will mostly drift southwards, will loosen 
thereby and melt further on. From Sunday, the 
weather in the northern part of the Gulf of Bothnia 
will be set by depression area moving from the 
Norwegian Sea southeastwards. Despite of the 
cool weather, ice retreat will continue rather rapidly. 
The next Ice Report will be issued on Tuesday, 
May 25, 2010.

Information of the Icebreaker Services 
Finland 
Vessels bound for ports with traffic restrictions in the Gulf of Bothnia shall report to ICE INFO on VHF Channel 
84 when passing the Svenska Björn lighthouse. 
Icebreaker: OTSO assists in the Bay of Bothnia. 
Sweden 
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental 
cebreaker assistance. 
Vessels bound for ports subject to traffic restrictions in Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn 
(59°33’N 20°01’E), report to ICEINFO on VHF channel 84. 
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s 
ıame, ETD and next port of destination. 
Departure report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, at least 6 hours before departure.
