Übersicht 
Der Eisrückgang im N-lichen Ostseeraum setzt sich 
weiter fort. 
Overview 
The ice retreat in the northern region of the Baltic 
Sea continues. 
Gulf of Riga 
At sea there is very open, 5-20 cm thick, rotten ice 
in the central part. 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: Off Hamina open water, else ice- 
'ree. Lake Saimaa: In the northern and central part 
10-35 cm thick rotten ice. - Russian Coast: Very 
open ice is drifting on the fairway between 28°30’ E 
and 29° E. Farther westwards there is very close 
10-25 cm thick ice up to the ice edge. The ice edge 
runs along about the line Cape Stirsudden — point 3 
nm west of lighthouse Sepelevskij — Seskar — Halli 
— island Zapadnyj Berezovyj —- Kiperort Peninsula. - 
The Vyborg Bay is ice-free. - In the Berkezund there 
is close to very close 5-25 cm thick ice. In the 
entrance very open ice is drifting. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Auf See kommt im zentralen Bereich sehr lockeres, 
5-20 cm dickes, morsches Eis vor. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: Außerhalb Hamina offenes 
Nasser, sonst eisfrei. Saimaasee: Im N-lichen und 
zentralen Teil 10-35 cm dickes morsches Eis. - 
Russische Küste: Im Fahrwasser treibt zwischen 
28°30‘ E und 29° E sehr lockeres Eis. Weiter W- 
wärts liegt bis zur Eisgrenze sehr dichtes 10-25 cm 
dickes Eis. Die Eisgrenze verläuft entlang etwa der 
_inie Kap Stirsudden — Punkt 3 sm W-lich vom 
euchtturm Sepelevskij - Seskar — Halli — Insel 
Zapadnyj] Berezovyj — Halbinsel Kiperort. - Die 
Vyborgbucht ist eisfrei. - Im Berkezund liegt dichtes 
bis sehr dichtes 10-25 cm dickes Eis, in der Einfahrt 
treibt sehr lockeres Eis. 
Schärenmeer 
S-lich von Isokari liegt 10-35 cm dickes, morsches 
Eis, sonst kommt offenes Wasser vor. 
Älandsee 
V-lich von Äland liegt sehr dichtes morsches Eis mit 
Resten von alten Presseisrücken. Auf See treiben 
m N-Teil einzelne Eisschollen, sonst kommt 
überwiegend offenes Wasser vor. 
Archipelago Sea 
10-35 cm thick rotten ice occurs south of Isokari, 
else there is mostly open water. 
Sea of Äland 
North of Äland there is very close rotten ice with 
remnants of old ridges. At sea, single ice floes are 
drifting in the northern part, else mostly open water 
Dccurs.
