Information of the Icebreaker Servic:
Finland
Vessels bound for ports in the Gulf of Bothnia shall report to ICE INFO on VHF Channel 84 when passing the
Svenska Björn lighthouse.
Icebreaker: OTSO and SISU assist in the northern Bay of Bothnia, URHO works in the southern part.
PROTECTOR and KUMMELI assist in Lake Saimaa.
Russia
Icebreaker: Icebreaker SEMYAN DEZNEV assists vessels in the port of St. Petersburg. In the ports Vyborg and
Vysotsk vessels are assisted by icebreakers TOR and KAPITAN IZMAILOW. ERMAK and MOSKVA are
working in the port of Primorsk. KARU is assisting in the port Ust Luga. On the fairway from the receiving buoy to
the ice edge vessels are assisted by icebreaker KAPITAN SOROKIN.
Sweden
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental
cebreaker assistance.
Vessels bound for ports subject to traffic restrictions in Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn
(59° 33’N 20° 01’E), report to ICEINFO on VHF channel 84.
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s
ı1ame, ETD and next port of destination.
Jeparture report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, at least 6 hours before departure.
Icebreaker: YMER and ATLE assist in the northern Bay of Bothnia, FREJ and ALE in the Quark.
