Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären von Vaasa liegt 
40-60 cm dickes Festeis, dann von Nora Gloppsten 
bis Norrskär sehr dichtes und übereinandergescho- 
benes 15-40 cm dickes Eis. Weiter außerhalb 
kommt bis Nordvalen lockeres 10-20 cm dickes Eis 
ind S-lich davon bis zur Linie Högbonden -— 
Storkallegrund offenes Wasser vor. N-lich von 
Nordvalen liegt sehr dichtes aufgepresstes 20-50 cm 
dickes Eis. - Schwedische Küste: E-lich von 
Aolmöarna liegt bis Nordvalen sehr dichtes 20-50 
cm dickes Eis, im Tiefwasserweg treiben einige sehr 
schwierige aufgepresste Eisschollen. Weiter S-lich 
tritt abwechselnd lockeres und dichtes 10-40 cm 
dickes Eis auf. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: In the Vaasa archipelago there is 
40-60 cm thick fast ice, then very close and rafted 
!5-40 cm thick ice from Norra Gloppsten to 
Norrskär. Farther out to Nordvalen there is open 
'0-20 cm thick ice, south of it there is open water 
up to the line Högbonden — Storkallegrund. North 
of Nordvalen there is very close ridged 20-50 cm 
*hick ice. - Swedish Coast: East of Holmöarna to 
Nordvalen there is very close 20-50 cm thick ice, in 
')he deep water channel some very heavy, ridged 
Aoes occur. Farther south there is alternating open 
and close 10-40 cm thick ice. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind im Norden mit 
40-85 cm, im mittleren und S-lichen Teil mit 35-60 
cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Anschließend kommt im 
Norden zusammenhängendes, stark aufgepresstes 
30-60 cm dickes Eis vor. Außerhalb Norströms- 
grund, Farstugrunden und Oulu 1 befinden sich 
breite Rinnen. Zwischen Malören und Kemi 1 kommt 
ein Bereich mit dichtem Eis vor. Im mittleren und S- 
‘chen Teil liegt sehr dichtes, übereinanderge- 
schobenes und aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes 
Treibeis, - Schwedische Küste: In den Schären 30- 
80 cm dickes Festeis. Auf See liegt sehr dichtes 30- 
70 cm dickes Eis, in dem gröbere Schollen, Press- 
eisrücken und viele Risse vorkommen. Eine Rinne 
verläuft entlang der Küste von Farstugrunden bis 
Bjuröklubb. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern Bay of Bothnia 
'here is 40-85 cm, in the central and southern part 
35-60 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago. Farther 
aut there is consolidated, heavily ridged 30-60 cm 
‘hick ice in the north. Wide leads are present off 
Norströmsgrund, off Farstugrunden and off QOulu 1. 
Between Malören and Kemi 1 there is an area of

very close, rafted and ridged 20-50 cm thick ice. - 
Swedish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 30-80 
sm thick fast ice. At sea mostly very close 30-70 
cm thick ice with heavy floes, ridges and numerous 
cracks occurs. A lead stretches along the coast 
From Farstugrunden to Bjuröklubb. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Im nördlichen Ostseeraum wird in den nächsten 
zwei Tagen eine Hochdruckwetterlage vorherrschen. 
Im Finnischen und Rigaischen Meerbusen und an 
den Küsten der Bottensee wird sich der 
ahrezeitliche Eisrückgang weiter fortsetzen, in der 
3ottenvik werden sich die Eisverhältnisse nicht 
wesentlich verändern. 
Expected Ice Development 
The region of the northern Baltic Sea will be 
influenced by a high pressure weather during the 
next two days. The seasonal ice retreat in the Gulf 
of Riga and the Gulf of Finland as well as along the 
coasts of the Sea of Bothnia will continue. No 
essential changes in the ice conditions are 
expected in the Bay of Bothnia.
