Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
N-lich der Linie Almagrundet — Ristna treiben örtlich 
Gürtel mit lockerem und sehr lockerem 5-30 cm 
dicken Eis. - Lettische Küste: Im Hafen von 
Ventspils sehr lockeres Eis. - Schwedische Küste: 
In den inneren Schären liegt 10-40 cm dickes, 
mMorsch werdendes Festeis. Im Kalmarsund kommt 
sehr dichtes, bis zu 30 cm dickes Eis vor; Schifffahrt 
durch Kalmarsund ist nicht empfehlenswert. 
Mälarsee: Mit bis zu 40 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt, 
im zentralen Bereich kommen offene Stellen vor. 
Vänernsee: Ebenes oder sehr dichtes Eis, 20-40 
cm dick. In den Djurö Schären kommen einige 
schwere Presseisrücken vor. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: Der Moonsund ist mit 20-40 cm, 
die Pärnubucht mit 40-50 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Weiter im Fahrwasser zur Irbenstraße liegt 
sehr dichtes, aufgepresstes 15-25 cm dickes Eis. In 
der Irbenstraße kommt offenes Wasser vor. - 
Lettische Küste: Der Hafen von Riga ist eisfrei. 
Entlang der Küste zur Irbenstraße erstreckt sich ein 
10-20 km breites Gebiet mit offenem Wasser. In der 
irbenstraße kommt sehr lockeres Treibeis, im 
Fahrwasser Irbenstraße — Ventspils offenes Wasser 
Vor. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Narva Bucht Festeis an der 
Küste, außerhalb davon sehr dichtes 15-30 cm 
dickes Eis. In der Kundabucht lockeres Eis. In der 
Muugabucht Festeis und dichtes 15-30 cm dickes 
Eis. In der Bucht von Tallinn sehr dichtes Eis an der 
Küste und lockeres Eis weiter außerhalb. Außerhalb 
der Küste verläuft von Toila W-wärts bis zur Länge 
von Mohni eine 4-8 sm breite Rinne mit sehr 
'ockerem Eis, weiter W-lich liegt dichtes bis sehr 
dichtes 15-35 cm dickes Eis. - Finnische Küste: 
Das Festeis in den Schären ist im Westen 20-50 cm, 
ım Osten 25-60 cm dick. Außerhalb davon kommt 
W-lich von Haapasaari auf 2-20 sm sehr lockeres 5- 
30 cm dickes Eis, weiter S-lich sehr dichtes 10-40 
cm dickes Eis vor. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen 
von St. Petersburg liegt Festeis. Weiter W-lich im 
Fahrwasser bis Kotlin 45-65 cm dickes Festeis, 
dann sehr dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis bis MoSCnyj, 
anschließend sehr dichtes bis dichtes 25-40 cm 
dickes Eis bis zur Länge von Vaindlo und dichtes 
15-35 cm dickes Eis bis zur Länge von Osmussaar. 
- Die Vyborgbucht ist mit 45-65 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt, weiter bis zum Leuchtturm Sommers 
kommt sehr dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis, dann sehr 
dichtes 25-40 cm dickes Eis vor. - Im Berkezund 
legt 45-65 cm dickes Festeis, in der Einfahrt sehr 
dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis. - In der Lugabucht 25- 
45 cm dickes Festeis bis zur Breite von Kap Luto, 
Freitag, den 26.03.2010

free. - Swedish Coast: At Karlskrona there is close 
to very open 5-20 cm thick ice. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
North of the line Almagrundet — Ristna belts with 
open and very open 5-30 cm thick ice are drifting, 
'n places. - Latvian Coast: In the port of Ventspils 
very open ice. - Swedish coast: In the inner 
archipelagos there is 10-40 cm thick rottening fast 
ice. In Kalmarsund there is very close, up to 30 cm 
thick drift ice; Transit traffic through Kalmarsund is 
not advisable. Lake Mälaren: Covered with up to 
40 cm thick fast ice. In the central part there are 
open areas. Lake Vänern: Level or very close ice, 
20-40 cm thick. There are some heavy ridges in the 
Dijurö archipelago. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In Moon Sound there is 20- 
40 cm, in the Pärnu Bay 40-50 cm thick fast ice. 
Farther out on the fairway to Irben Strait there is 
very close, ridged 15-25 cm thick ice. In the Irben 
Strait there is open water. - Latvian Coast: The 
port of Riga is ice-free. Along the coast to the Irben 
Strait there is a 10-20 km wide zone of open water 
In the Irben Strait very open ice, in the fairway 
Irben Strait — Ventspils open water occurs. 
Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: In the Bight of Narva there is fast 
ice near the coast and very close 15-30 cm thick ice 
‘arther out. In the Kunda Bay there is open ice. In 
the Muuga Bay there is fast ice and close 15-30 cm 
'hick ice. In the Tallinn Bay there is very close ice at 
Ihe coast and open ice farther off. Off the coast 
there is from Toila westwards to the longitude of 
Mohni a 3-6 nm wide lead with very open drift ice, 
farther west close to very close 15-35 cm thick ice 
accurs. - Finnish Coast: In the archipelagos there 
is 20-50 cm thick fast ice in the west and 25-60 cm 
thick fast ice in the east. Farther out there is west of 
laapasaari for 2-20 nm very open 5-30 cm thick 
ice. Farther south there is very close 10-40 cm thick 
ice. - Russian Coast: In the harbours of St. 
Petersburg there is fast ice. Farther westwards on the 
fairway 45-65 cm thick fast ice occurs to Kotlin, then 
very close 30-50 cm thick ice to MoSEnyj, followed by 
very close to close 25-40 cm thick ice to the 
longitude of Vaindlo and close 15-35 cm thick ice 
up to the longitude of Osmussaar. - The Vyborg Bay 
is covered with 45-65 cm thick fast ice, followed by 
very close 30-50 cm thick ice up to the lighthouse 
Sommers. Farther out there is very close 25-40 cm 
thick ice. - In Berkezund there is 45-65 cm thick fast 
ice, in the entrance there is very close 30-50 cm 
hick ice. - In the Luga Bay there is 25-45 cm thick 
fast ice up to the latitude of Cape Luto, farther out
