Schwedische Küste: Mälarsee: Im Westteil liegt 
15-30 cm dickes Festeis, sonst kommt Neueis vor. 
Vänernsee: In den inneren nördlichen Schären und 
in Vänersborgsviken liegt 5-20 cm dickes Festeis. In 
geschützten Buchten kommt Neueis und Eisbildung 
vor. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Swedish coast: - Lake Mälaren: In the western 
part there is 15-30 cm thick fast ice, else new ice 
occurs. Lake Vänern: In the inner northern 
archipelagoes and in Vänersborgsviken there is 5- 
20 cm thick fast ice. There is new ice and ice 
formation in sheltered bays. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is 25-35 
cm thick fast ice. Farther out up to the longitude of 
the island Kihnu, there is open ice, and 5-15 cm 
thick close ice, in places. In Moonsund there is 10- 
20 cm thick compact ice. - Latvian Coast: Very 
open new ice along the western coast, the fairways 
are ice-free. 
Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: In the Narva and Kunda Bays 
there is dark nilas and new ice near the coast. - 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos there is 
‘hin level ice. Between Hamina and Einonkari thin 
very close ice occurs, farther out new ice and ice 
formation. Lake Saimaa: In the northern part there 
is 20-25 cm, in the southern part and in the Canal 
there 10-20 cm thick ice. - Russian Coast: In the 
narbours of St. Petersburg there is compact ice. 
Farther westwards on the fairway 12-22 cm thick fast 
ice occurs to the longitude of Lomonosov, followed 
5y 10-20 cm thick close to very close ice up to the 
longitude of Cape Seraja Loshad’. Farther out there 
is dark nilas and new ice up to the longitude of Cape 
Dubovskij. - The inner Vyborg Bay is covered with 
15-25 cm thick fast ice. Farther out there is 10-20 cm 
thick close to very close ice between the latitudes of 
island Igrivyj and the lighthouse Rondo. Finally, there 
is nilas and new ice up to the latitude 60°18’ N. - In 
Berkezund there is 10-15 cm thick very close ice, in 
the entrance there is nilas and new ice. - Along the 
coasts of the Copora Bay and the Luga Bay there 
is new ice. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnubucht liegt 25-35 cm 
dickes Festeis. Weiter außerhalb kommt bis zur 
Breite von Kihnu lockeres Eis, stellenweise auch 5- 
15 cm dickes dichtes Eis vor. Im Moonsund liegt 10- 
20 cm dickes zusammengeschobenes Eis. - 
Lettische Küste: Entlang der Westküste sehr 
‚ockeres Neueis, alle Fahrwasser sind eisfrei. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Narva- und Kundabucht 
kommt in der Küstennähe dunkler Nilas und Neueis 
vor. - Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären 
liegt dünnes ebenes Eis. Zwischen Hamina und 
Einonkari kommt dünnes sehr dichtes Eis, dann 
\eueis and Eisbildung vor. Saimaasee: Im Nordteil 
‚legt 20-25 cm, im Südteil und im Kanal 10-20 cm 
dickes Eis. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen von 
St. Petersburg liegt zusammengeschobenes Eis. 
Weiter westwärts kommt im Fahrwasser bis zur 
Länge von Lomonosov 12-22 cm dickes Festeis, 
dann bis zur Länge vom Kap Seraja Loshad‘ 10-20 
cm dickes dichtes bis sehr dichtes Eis vor. 
Anschließend tritt bis zur Länge vom Kap Dubovskij 
dunkler Nilas und Neueis auf. - Die innere 
Vyborgbucht ist mit 15-25 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Außerhalb davon liegt zwischen den 
3reiten der Insel Igrivyj und des Leuchtturms Rondo 
dichtes bis sehr dichtes 10-20 cm dickes Eis. 
Anschließend kommt bis zur Breite 60°18‘ N dunkler 
Nilas und Neueis vor. - Im Berkezund liegt 10-15 cm 
dickes sehr dichtes Eis, in der Einfahrt kommt Nilas 
und Neueis vor. - Entlang der Küsten der Copora 
und Luga Bucht tritt Neueis auf. 
Schärenmeer 
In den inneren Schären liegt dünnes ebenes Eis. 
Archipelago Sea 
In the inner archipelagos there is thin level ice. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos there is 
thin level ice, farther out there is a narrow belt of 
thin drift ice. - Swedish Coast: A 5-8 nm wide belt 
of 5-10 cm thick level ice or new ice occurs north of 
Skagsudde. Farther southwards till Gävle Bight 
there is in sheltered bays thin fast ice or new ice. 
The Ängermanälv is covered with 10-25 thick fast 
ice 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären liegt 
dünnes ebenes Eis, weiter außerhalb kommt ein 
schmaler Streifen aus dünnem Treibeis vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: Nördlich von Skagsudde liegt 
ein 5-8 sm breiter Gürtel mit 5-10 cm dickem ebenen 
Eis oder Neueis. Weiter südwärts bis zur Gävle 
Bucht kommt in geschützten Buchten dünnes 
Festeis oder Neueis vor. Der Ängermanälv ist mit
