schobenes, 15-40 cm dickes Eis vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: E-lich von Holmöarna liegt 
eine mit Neueis bedeckte Rinne. Von Sydostbrotten 
bis Nordvalen kommt meist Neueis, und von 
Nordvalen bis nach Vallinsgrundet kommt meist 
offenes Wasser vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind im Norden mit 
40-85 cm, im mittleren und S-lichen Teil mit 35-55 
cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb davon liegt 
im Norden zusammenhängendes, stark aufge- 
presstes 30-60 cm dickes Eis. Im Bereich N-lich von 
Falkensgrund befinden sich breite, mit 5-15cm 
dickem Eis bedeckte Rinnen. Im Süden liegt 
kompaktes, übereinandergeschobenes und teilweise 
aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes Treibeis. - 
Schwedische Küste: N-lich von 64°53'N liegt meist 
sehr dichtes 30-60 cm dickes Eis mit zahlreichen 
Presseisrücken. Südlich davon liegt größtenteils 20- 
50cm dickes, ebenes Eis. Entlang der Küste 
verläuft, von Piteä nach Süden bis hin zu Norra 
Kvarken, eine 5-15sm breite, mit dünnem ebenem 
Eis bedeckte Rinne. Die engste Stelle dieser Rinne 
befindet sich bei Bjuröklubb. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In der westlichen und südlichen Ostsee Bereich 
werden bis morgen bei nordwestlichen Winden die 
Temperaturen in etwa gleich bleiben, um dann zum 
Mittwoch hin anzusteigen, was dann auch den 
Eisrückgang beschleunigt. Im östlichen und 
1ördlichen Bereich des Ostseeraumes bleibt der 
Wind meist schwach und bei mäßigen bis strengen 
Frost kommt es zu Neueisbildung und einer 
Zunahme der Eisdicken.

there is a lead, covered by new ice. From 
Sydostbrotten to Nordvalen there is mostly new ice 
and from Nordvalen to Vallinsgrundet there is 
mostly open water. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern Bay of Bothnia 
there is 40-85 cm, in the central and southern part 
35-55 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago. Farther 
aut there is consolidated, heavily ridged 30-60 cm 
thick ice in the north. In the area north of 
Falkensgrund wide leads, covered with 5-15cm 
thick ice, occur. In the southern part there is 
compact, rafted and in places ridged 20-50 cm 
thick ice. - Swedish Coast: North of 64°53'N there 
is mostly very close 30-60 cm thick ice with 
numerous ridges. South of it there is mainly 25- 
50cm level ice. Along the coast, from Piteä 
southwards all the way to Norra Kvarken there is a 
lead, covered by thin level ice. The narrowest part 
of this lead is located near Bjuröklubb. 
Expected Ice Development 
ın the western and southern part of the Baltic area 
north-westerly wind will keep the temperatures 
around the actual values until tomorrow, but then 
temperatures will begin to rise and accelerate the 
ice retreat. In the eastern and northern parts of the 
Baltic only weak winds are expected and due to 
moderate to string frost new ice formation will occur 
and the ice thickness will increase.
