bis 30 cm dickes Festeis. Die inneren Gewässer N- 
lich von Stralsund sind mit ca. 30 cm dickem, z.T. 
zerbrochenem Festeis bedeckt. Der Hafen Stralsund 
ist eisfrei, weiter bis Palmer Ort liegt 15-30 cm 
dickes, dichtes Eis. Im Greifswalder Bodden liegt im 
Westen 15-30cm dickes sehr dichtes Eis, im Osten 
5-15cm dickes, lockeres Eis und weiter außerhalb 
kommt offenes Wasser und sehr lockeres Eis vor. 
An den Küsten liegt stellenweise 20-25 cm dickes 
Festeis. Auf dem N-lichen Peenestrom treiben 
stellenweise einzelne Eisschollen. In den inneren 
Boddengewässern, auf dem S-lichen Peenestrom 
nd im Kleinen Haff liegt an geschützten Stellen 10- 
30 cm dickes Festeis, ansonsten offenes Wasser bis 
dichtes Eis, 5-30cm dick. - Litauische Küste: Beim 
Hafen Klaipeda liegt in der Einfahrt entlang der 
Küste Eisbrei. Das Kurische Haff ist mit 40-65 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. - Polnische Küste: Im 
Stettiner Haff liegt 10-15cm dickes, dichtes Eis. Im 
Fahrwasser nach Stettin driftet 10-30 cm dickes 
ıockeres bis dichtes Eis. - Schwedische Küste: Bei 
Karlskrona lockeres 10-25 cm dickes Eis. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
N-lich der Linie Huvudskär —- 20 Sm östlich von 
Gotska Sandön — Vilsandi kommt sehr lockeres bis 
dichtes, 5-30 cm dickes Eis vor. Lettische Küste: 
Im Hafen Ventspils liegt dichtes Eis, der Hafen 
_iepaja ist eisfrei und im Fahrwasser dazwischen 
kommt offenes Wasser vor. - Schwedische Küste: 
In den inneren Schären liegt 10-40 cm dickes 
Festeis, welches anfängt morsch zu werden. Auf 
See treiben nördlich von Dago Streifen von 5-20 cm 
dicken, dichten oder lockerem Eis. Weiter nach 
Süden treiben entlang der Küste Streifen mit sehr 
ockerem Eis. Im Kalmarsund S-lich von Blä 
‚Jungfrun dichtes bis lockeres, bis zu 40 cm dickes 
Eis. Mälarsee: Mit bis zu 40 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt, im zentralen Bereich kommen offene 
Stellen vor. Vänernsee: Ebenes oder dichtes Eis, 
10-25 cm dick. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: An der S-Küste von Saaremaa 
verläuft außerhalb des Festeises eine 3-15 sm breite 
Rinne mit Neueis. Der Moonsund ist mit 20-40 cm, 
die Pärnubucht mit 45-50 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Weiter im Fahrwasser zur Irbenstraße liegt 
15-35 cm dickes, dichtes und sehr dichtes, aufge- 
presstes Eis. In der Irbenstraße kommt lockeres, 
stellenweise auch dichtes, 20-30 cm dickes Eis vor. 
- Lettische Küste: Im Hafen von Riga dichtes Eis. 
im Fahrwasser von Riga nach Mersrags sehr 
dichtes, aufgepresstes Eis, weiter bis Kolka liegt 
zwar ein 10-20km breites Gebiet offenen Wassers, 
aber im Fahrwasser kommt dichtes Eis vor. In der 
irbenstraße sehr lockeres Eis, weiter im Fahrwasser 
nach Ventspils offenes Wasser.

and Zingst there is up to 30 cm thick fast ice. The 
'nner waters north of Stralsund are covered with 
around 30 cm thick fast ice. The harbour of 
Stralsund is ice free, farther out to Palmer Ort close 
15-30 cm thick ice. In the Greifswalder Bodden 
there 15-30cm thick very close ice in the west and 
up to 15cm thick open ice in the west; farther out 
open water and very open ice. At the coast there is 
20-25 cm thick fast ice in places. On the northern 
Peenestrom single ice floes are drifting, in places. 
in the inner Bodden waters, on the southern 
Peenestrom and in Kleines Haff there is 10-30 cm 
thick fast ice in sheltered areas, else open water to 
5-30cm thick close ice. - Lithuanian Coast: In the 
antrance to the port of Klaipeda there is shuga 
along the coast. The Courland Lagoon is covered 
with 40-65 cm thick fast ice. - Polish Coast: There 
is 15-20 cm thick close ice in the Stettin Lagoon 
and on the fairway to Stettin there is open to close 
10-30 cm thick drift ice. - Swedish Coast: At 
Karlskrona there is open 10-25 cm thick ice. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
North of the line Huvuskär — 20 nm east of Gotska 
Sandön - Vilsandi there is very open to close 5-30 
cm thick ice. Latvian Coast: There is close ice in 
the port of Ventspils, the port of Liepaja is ice free 
and on the fairway in between both ports open 
water occurs. - Swedish coast: In the inner 
archipelagos there is 10-40 cm thick fast ice, which 
is beginning to rot. At sea stripes of 5-20 cm thick, 
zlose of open ice are drifting north of Dago. Further 
south stripes of very open ice are drifting along the 
coast. In Kalmarsund there is close to open, up to 
40 cm thick drift ice south of Blä Jungfrun. Lake 
Mälaren: Covered with up to 40 cm thick fast ice. 
In the central part there are open areas. Lake 
Vänern: Level ice or close ice, 10-25 cm thick. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: At the southern coast of 
Saaremaa there is off the fast ice a 3-15 nm wide 
lead with new ice. In Moon Sound there is 20- 
40 cm, in the Pärnu Bay 45-50 cm thick fast ice. 
Farther out on the fairway to Irben Strait there is 
15-35 cm thick, close and very close, ridged ice,. In 
the Irben Strait there open, in places also close, 
20-30 cm thick ice. - Latvian Coast: In the port of 
Riga close ice. In the fairway from Riga to 
Mersrags there is very close, hummocked ice. 
Although there is a 10-20km wide zone of open 
water between Mersrags and Kolka, in the fairway 
there is close ice. In the Irben Strait there is very 
open ice and farther out in the fairway to Ventspils 
there is open water.
