50 cm dickes Festeis. - Lettische Küste: Im Hafen 
von Riga dichtes Packeis. Aufgrund von westlichen 
Winden Eisdrift in die westliche Bucht. Dort in 
<«üstennähe 4-7 km Festeis mit einer Dicke von 20- 
35 cm, weiterhin kompaktes und aufgepresstes Eis 
Im Fahrwasser Riga — Mersrags offenes Wasser, 
dann sehr dichtes Packeis bis Kolka. In der 
iIrbenstraße kompaktes, aufgepresstes Eis. Sehr 
ockeres Packeis im Fahrwasser zwischen der 
Irbenstraße und Ventspils. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In den Buchten sehr lockeres Eis, 
Festeisstreifen an der Küste. In der Bucht von 
Tallinn offenes Wasser - Finnische Küste: In den 
Schären liegt 20-50 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb 
davon erst 5-15 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis, gefolgt 
von dichtem bis sehr dichtem 15-40 cm dicken Eis 
bis ungefähr zum zentralen Finnischen Meerbusen. 
Südlich davon offenes Wasser. - Russische Küste: 
In den Häfen von St. Petersburg liegt Festeis. Weiter 
westlich im Fahrwasser bis Kotlin 45-60 cm dickes 
Festeis, dann sehr dichtes und komprimiertes 30-45 
cm dickes Eis bis Seskar, gefolgt von sehr dichtem 
15-30 cm dicken Eis. - Die Vyborgbucht ist mit 40-55 
cm dickem Festeis bedeckt, weiter bis zum 
_euchtturm Sommers kommt sehr dichtes 30-45 cm 
dickes Eis vor, dann dichtes bis sehr dichtes 20-30 
cm dickes Eis. - Im Berkezund ist 40-55 cm dickes 
Festeis, in der Einfahrt sehr dichtes 30-45 cm dickes 
Eis. - In der Lugabucht liegt 25-40 cm dickes 
-esteis, in der Einfahrt ist eine Polynya mit sehr 
ockerem Eis. In der Copora Bucht 25-40 cm dickes 
Festeis, in der Einfahrt sehr dichtes 25-40 cm dickes 
Eis.

drifting to the east part of the gulf. Near the east 
coast 4-7 km fast ice, 20-35 cm thick, further 
compact hummocked ice. In the fairway Riga- 
Mersrags open water, further very close pack ice to

Very open pack ice in the fairway from Irbes Strait

Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: In the Bays very open ice, rimmed 
5y fast ice at the coast. In the bay of Tallinn open 
water occurs. - Finnish Coast: In the archipelagos 
there is 20-50 cm thick fast ice. Further out, first 5- 
15 cm thick, very close ice followed by 15-40 cm 
thick, close and very close ice approx. to the central 
aulf of Finland. Further south open water. 
- Russian Coast: In the harbours of St. Petersburg 
there is fast ice. Farther westwards on the fairway 
45-60 cm thick fast ice occurs to Kotlin, then very 
close and compressed 30-45 cm thick ice to Seskar, 
followed by very close 15-30 cm thick ice. - The 
Vyborg Bay is covered with 40-55 cm thick fast ice, 
ollowed by very close 30-45 cm thick ice up to the

very close 30-45 cm thick ice. - In the Luga Bay 
there is 25-40 cm thick fast ice up to the latitude of 
Cape Luto. In the entrance is a polynya covered

thick fast ice, in the entrance there is very close 25- 
40 cm thick ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
In the Archipelago Sea there is 20-45 cm thick fast 
ice in the inner archipelago. In the outer skerries, 
10-30 cm thick level ice and consolidated drift ice 
to Utö. Farther out, 5-30 cm thick close ice approx. 
18 nm to the south of Utö. 
Sea of Äland 
Heavy ice pressure with 20-35 cm very close drift ice 
irom Märket past Söderarm. Further to Bogskär 15-25 cm 
close ice. Archipelago Sea 15-35 cm fast ice. 
Schärenmeer 
In den inneren Schären liegt 20-45 cm dickes Fest- 
eis, in den äußeren Schären 10-30 cm dickes 
ebenes Eis und zusammengefrorenes Treibeis bis 
Utö. Weiter außerhalb, bis ca. 18 sm südlich von 
Jtö, dichtes 5-30 cm dickes Eis. 
Älandsee 
Starker Eisdruck verbunden mit 20-35 cm, sehr 
dichtem Treibeis von Märket bis hinter Söderarm. 
Weiter nach Bogskär 15-25 cm dichtes Eis. In den 
Schären 15-35 cm Festeis. 
Bottensee 
in den Schären befindet sich 20-50 cm Festeis, auf 
offener See sehr dichtes bis kompaktes 15-40 cm 
dickes im Norden und Süden, im mittleren Teil 
dichtes bis sehr dichtes Eis von 10-30 cm Dicke mit 
Presseisrücken. 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt 25-50 cm 
dickes Festeis. Außerhalb der Festeiskante befindet 
sich eine 10-30 sm großes Gebiet mit 10-25 cm 
dicken Treibeis, die Eiskonzentration varliert 
zwischen sehr locker bis dicht. Danach folgt sehr 
dichtes 10-25 cm dickes Treibeis sowie ebenes Eis. 
Sea of Bothnia 
In the archipelagos there is 20-50 cm thick fast ice, 
at sea very close to compact 15-40 cm thick ice 
occurs in the northern and southern parts as well as
