Westliche und Südliche Ostsee 
Dänische Küste: In kleineren Häfen und geschützt 
liegenden und flachen Küstengewässern liegt bis zu 
30 cm dickes Festeis. - Deutsche Küste: In der 
Mecklenburger Bucht treiben auf See Streifen mit 
lockerem Eis. Die innere Flensburger Fjorde ist mit 
5-15 cm dickem Eis bedeckt, die Schlei mit 10-15 
cm dickem Eis und bei Eckernförde kommt sehr 
'ockeres 5-15 cm dickes Eis vor. Im Fehmarnbelt 
und im Fehmarnsund offenes Wasser. In der 
Lübecker Bucht größtenteils offenes Wasser, in 
NAleustadt Hafen sehr dichtes 10-30 cm dickes Eis. 
Bei Wismar lockeres bis dichtes 10-15 cm dickes 
Eis. In Rostock liegt auf der Unterwarnow Örtlich 
sehr dichtes 15-30 cm dickes Eis, sonst offenes 
Wasser. 20-35 cm dickes Festeis in den inneren 
Boddengewässern und im Haff, sowie an den 
Küsten des Greifswalder Boddens. Im inneren 
Greifswalder Bodden überwiegend kompaktes 30-50 
cm dickes Eis, in den Außenbereichen etwas 
aufgelockert. In der Pommerschen Bucht treibt 
lockeres bis dichtes 10-20 cm dickes Eis, 
stellenweise kommt auch dickeres Eis vor. - 
Litauische Küste: Meist eisfrei. Das Kurische Haff 
ist mit 50-63 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. - 
Polnische Küste: Im Stettiner Haff liegt 25-30 cm 
dickes Festeis, im _Fahrwasser Szezecin -— 
Swinoujscie lockeres 25-30 cm dickes Trümmereis. 
im Hafen Szezecin lockeres 10-15 cm dickes Eis. - 
Schwedische Küste: Bei Karlskrona sehr dichtes 
10-25 cm dickes Eis und Neueis 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Die Eisgrenze in der N-lichen Ostsee verläuft auf der 
Linie Almagrundet —- 30 sm S-lich von Utö — 15 sm 
S-lich von Bengtskär. 
Estnische Küste: Vor der Küste von Saaremaa und 
Hilumaa kommt sehr lockeres bis lockeres 5-20 cm 
dickes Eis vor. - Lettische Küste: Im Hafen von 
Ventspils lockeres 5-10 cm dickes Eis, im Hafen von 
-iepaja sehr dichtes dünnes Eis. In den 
Fahrwassern kommt lockeres Treibeis oder offenes 
Wasser vor. -Schwedische Küste: In den inneren 
Schären von Stockholm liegt 25-40 cm, im E-lichen 
Teil 15-30 cm dickes Festeis. Entlang der Küste 
erstreckt sich zwischen Nyköping und Oskarshamn 
ein schmales Gebiet mit kompaktem dünnen Eis. Im 
Kalmarsund sehr dichtes bis zu 40 cm dickes Eis im 
N-Teil und Trümmereisbarriere außerhalb Oskars- 
namn. Mälarsee: Mit bis zu 40 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Vänernsee: Im Värmlandssjön liegt an der 
Küste 30-50 cm dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon 
ebenes Eis. Im Dalbosiön kommt 15-25 cm dickes 
Western and Southern Baltic 
Danish Coast: In small harbours and sheltered 
and shallow coastal waters there is up to 30 cm 
'hick fast ice. - German Coast: At sea in the Bight 
of Mecklenburg some strips of open ice are drifting. 
The inner fjord of Flensburg is covered with 5-15 
cm thick ice, the Schlei with 10-15 cm thick ice and 
at Eckernförde there is very open 5-15 cm thick ice. 
'n the Fehmarnbelt and in the Fehmarnsund there 
's open water. In the Bay of Lübeck there is mostly 
open water, in Neustadt port very close 10-30 cm 
thick ice. At Wismar there is open to close ice, 10- 
15 cm thick. At Rostock there is partly very close 
'5-30 cm thick ice on the Unterwarnow, else open 
water. 20-35 cm thick fast ice occurs in the Bodden 
waters and in the Haff as well as along the coast of 
ihe Greifswalder Bodden. In the inner Greifswalder 
Bodden there is mostly compact 30-50 cm thick 
ice, which is getting more open in the outer part. In 
'he Pomeranian Bight open to close 10-20 cm thick 
ice with some areas of thicker ice in-between. - 
Lithuanian Coast: Mostly ice free. The Courland 
Lagoon is covered with 50-63 cm thick fast ice. - 
Polish Coast: In Szczecin Lagoon there is 25-30 
cm thick fast ice; on the fairway Szezecin — 
Swinoujscie there is open 25-30 cm thick brash ice. 
In the port of Szeczecin open 15-30 cm thick ice. - 
Swedish Coast: At Karlskrona there is very close 
10-25 em thick ice and new ice. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
The ice edge in the northern Baltic runs along the 
line Almagrundet — 30 nm south of Utö6 — 15 nm 
south of Bengtskär. 
Estonian Coast: Off the coast of Saaremaa and 
Hiiumaa very open to open 5-20 cm thick ice 
occurs. - Latvian Coast: In the port of Ventspils 
there is 5-10 cm thick open ice, in the port of 
Liepaja very close thin ice. On the fairways there is 
open drift ice or open water. - Swedish coast: In 
ihe inner archipelago of Stockholm there is 25-40 
cm, in the eastern parts 15-30 cm thick fast ice. 
Close to the coast there is a narrow area of 
compact thin ice between Nyköping and 
Oskarshamn. In the Kalmar Strait there is very 
close, up to 40 cm thick ice in the northern part and 
a brash ice barrier off Oskarshamn. Lake Mälaren: 
Covered with up to 40 cm thick fast ice. Lake 
Vänern: In the Värmlandssjön at the coast there is 
30-50 cm thick fast ice, farther out level ice. In the 
Dalbosiön 15-25 cm thick level ice occurs.
