Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären liegt 
zwischen Vaasa und Norra Gloppsten 25-45 cm 
dickes Fest. Außerhalb liegt 10-25 cm dickes, sehr 
dichtes übereinandergeschobenes Eis, weiter süd- 
lich liegt bis zur Breite von Kaskinen Neueis, 5- 
20 cm dickes ebenes Eis und dickere Schollen zu- 
sammengefrorenem Trümmereises. - Schwedische 
Küste: W-lich von Holmöarna 20-40 cm dickes 
Festeis. Eine etwa 5sm breite Rinne kommt von 
Holmögadd Richtung Südwesten vor. E-lich und NE- 
lich von Nordvalen liegt meist 5-15cm dickes ebenes 
Eis. Bei Sydostbrotten treibt sehr dichtes, teilweise 
übereinandergeschobenes Eis. 
Bottenvik 
Vollständig eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
25-50 cm, die südlichen Schären mit 20-35 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb des Festeises 
liegt im Norden bis zur Line Raahe — Nygrän sehr 
dichtes übereinandergeschobenes und stark aufge- 
presstes 25-45 cm dickes Eis, im Süden liegt 
dünnes ebenes Eis. Ansonsten kommt 10-30 cm 
dickes, sehr dichtes übereinandergeschobenes Eis 
vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen 
;nneren Schären 25-50 cm dickes Festeis. Auf See 
ijegt im Norden zusammenhängendes, bis zu 40 cm 
dickes Eis. Zwischen MNorströmsgrund und 
Farstugrunden und im Osten bis Merrikallat ist das 
Eis übereinandergeschoben und start aufgepresst. 
In der Bucht von Skellefteä liegt 10-15cm dickes 
ebenes Eis mit einigen Presseisrücken. Auf See im 
Süden liegt 10-25 cm dickes, übereinanderge- 
schobenes dichtes Eis.

rafted very close ice. More to the south new ice, 5- 
20 cm thick level ice and thick floes of consolidated 
orash ice are drifting approximately up to the 
jatitude of Kaskinen. - Swedish Coast: West of 
Holmöarna 20-40 cm thick fast ice. From 
Holmögadd into southwesterly direction there is an 
aoubt 5nm wide lead. East and northeast of 
Nordvalen there is mostly 5-15cm thick level ice. 
Near Sydostbrotten very close, partly rafted ice is 
drifting. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
zovered with 25-50 cm, the southern archipelagos 
with 20-35 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is 
very close, rafted and heavily ridged, 25-45 cm 
thick ice north of the line Raahe — Nygrän and in 
the south there is first thin level ice off the fast ice. 
EIse there is very close 10-30 cm thick rafted ice. - 
Swedish Coast: In the northern inner archipelagos 
there is 25-50 cm thick fast ice. At sea in the north 
there is compact and consolidated up to 40 cm 
thick ice. In the region between Norströmsgrund 
and Farstugrunden and from there eastwards to 
Merrikallat the ice is rafted and heavily ridged. In 
the Bight of Skellefteä there is 10-15cm level ice 
with some ridges. At sea in the south there is 10-25 
cm thick close, rafted ice. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Das Tief, das von Westen kommend in den 
südlichen Ostseebereich zieht, bedingt in der 
mittleren Ostsee bis hin zur Bottensee Winde aus 
vorwiegend südöstlicher bis östlicher Richtung. 
Jiese treiben das Eis an der Ostküste der mittleren 
Ostsee von der Küste weg und in der Bottensee 
treiben sie das Eis auf die schwedische Küste zu. 
Ansonsten ist bis morgen mit keinen größeren 
Änderungen zu rechnen. 
Expected Ice Development 
The low pressure system entering the southern 
Baltic region from the west leads to mostly 
southeasterly to easterly winds over the central and 
northern Baltic and the Sea of Bothnia. Therefore 
the ice will drift away from the eastern coast of the 
sentral Baltic and drift towards the Swedish coast 
in the Sea of Bothnia. Else no mayor changes are 
expected till tomorrow
