Information of the Icebreaker Services 
Estonia 
Finland 
Vessels bound for Finnish ports and requiring icebreaker assistance shall, well in advance of entering ice- 
covered waters, report to an icebreaker in accordance with instructions given in the daily ice report. In addition, 
vessels bound for Gulf of Bothnia ports in which traffic restrictions apply shall, when passing Svenska Björn, 
’eport their nationality, name, port of destination, ETA and speed to ICEINFO on VHF channel 84. This report 
can also be given directly by phone + 46 31 69 91 00. If required, due to the ice conditions, the position for 
‚eporting can be transferred farther to the south. 
Icebreaker: KONTIO is heading for the Bay of Bothnia. KUMMELI assists in the northern Lake Saimaa. 
METEOR will start to work in Saimaa towards the end of the week. 
Russia 
Icebreaker: Icebreakers IVAN KRUZENSTERN and KAPITAN ZARUBIN assist low-powered vessels in the 
port of St. Petersburg. In the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk low-powered vessels are assisted by icebreaker 
KAPITAN IZMAILOW. 
Sweden 
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental 
cebreaker assistance. 
All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn (59° 33’N 20°01’ E) 
contact “ICE INFO” on VHF channel 84. 
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s 
ıame, ETD and next port of destination. 
Departure report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, at least 6 hours before departure.
