Übersicht 
Seit gestern hat das Eis in allen Bereichen der 
Ostsee weiter zugenommen. Der Saimaa Kanal 
wird ab 18. Januar für die Schifffahrt geschlossen. 
Deutsche Bucht 
Deutsche Küste: An der Nordfriesischen Küste 
<ommt im Hafen von Tönning 5-10 cm dickes Fest- 
sis und im Hafen von Husum und Amrum sehr 
ockeres bis lockeres Neueis vor. Ansonsten örtlich 
stellenweise Neueis. Auf der Elbe liegt 10-15cm 
dickes, sehr dichtes Eis im Hamburger Hafen. Die 
Elbe abwärts kommt bis Cuxhaven örtlich Neueis 
vor. Auf der Weser kommt örtlich sehr lockeres 5- 
10cm dickes Eis vor. Auf der Ems driftet stellen- 
weise 5cm dickes Neueis. Im Nord-Ostsee-Kanal 
<ommt in der Gieselauschleuse etwa 5 cm dickes 
Festeis vor, der eigentliche Kanal ist aber eisfrei. 
Skagerrak, Kattegat und Beltsee 
Dänische Küste: In einigen geschützten Buchten 
<ommt bis zu 10cm dickes Eis vor. - Norwegische 
Küste: Im Hafen von Oslo, im Tromeysund, 
Arendal und in anderen geschützt liegenden 
«üstenbereichen kommt sehr lockeres Eis vor. Im 
Oslofjord liegt im Mossesund kompaktes, 10-15cm 
dickes Eis. Im Drammensfjord liegt kompaktes 10- 
!5cm dickes Eis. Im Bereich Kragero liegt im 
Skätoysund lockeres 10-15 cm dickes Eis umd im 
_angärsund 15-30 cm dickes Festeis. In 
Kragerofjord sehr lockeres Eis. Im Fahrwasser 
Stabbestad — Litangen — Snekkevik sehr dichtes 
Dis kompaktes Treibeis, die Schifffahrt verläuft in 
einer Rinne ohne Eisbrecherunterstützung. -

Overview 
In all regions of the Baltic Sea, the ice has increased 
since yesterday. The Saimaa Canal will be closed for 
traffic on 18" of January. 
German Bight 
German Coast: On the Northfrisian coast 5-10cm 
thick fast ice in Tönning harbour and very open to 
open new ice in the harbour of Husum and Amrum, 
in other sheltered places new ice occurs in places, 
On the River Elbe there is very close 10-15cm thick 
ice in the harbour of Hamburg. Further down the 
Elbe there is some new ice up till the harbour of 
Cuxhaven. On river Weser very open 5-10 cm thick 
ice occurs in places. On river Ems some new ice, up 
to 5 cm thick, is drifting in places. Kiel-Canal: At the 
Gieselauschleuse about 5 cm thick fast ice, the 
Canal itself is ice-free. 
Skagerrak, Kattegat and Belt Sea 
Danish Coast: In sheltered bays there is up to 10cm 
thick ice in places. - Norwegian Coast: In the 
harbour of Oslo, in Tromoysund, Arendal and in 
some other sheltered coastal areas there is very 
open ice. In the Oslofjord there is 10-15cm thick 
compact ice in the Mossesund. In Drammensfjorden 
there is compact 10-15cm thick ice. In the Kragero 
region there is 10-15 cm thick open ice in 
Skätoysund and 15-30 cm thick fast ice in 
Langärsund. In Kragerofjorden very open ice. On the 
fairway Stabbestad — Litangen — Snekkevik there is 
very close to compact drift ice, navigation proceeds 
in a lead without icebreaker assistance. - Swedish 
Coast: - Lake Vänern: At the northern coast there is 
5-15 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago between
