Übersicht 
in der Bottenvik treibt das Eis auf See in die 
westlichen Richtungen und lockert sich dabei in den 
Randbereichen auf. Das Festeis in den nördlichen 
Schären beginnt aufzubrechen. 
Saimaasee: im Nordteil kommt 10-35 cm dickes 
mnorsches Eis vor, sonst eisfrei. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Offenes Wasser. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären liegt 
40-70 cm dickes, morsch werdendes und 
aufbrechendes Festeis. Außerhalb davon kommt bis 
etwa zur Linie Falkensgrund — Ulkokalla sehr dichtes 
Ind stark aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes Eis vor. 
Südlich davon tritt offenes Wasser auf. In den 
südlichen Schären treibt örtlich morsches Eis, sonst 
eisfrei. - Schwedische Küste: Die nördlichen 
Schären sind mit 20-60 cm dickem, morsch 
werdenden Festeis bedeckt. Auf See liegt im 
Nordosten sehr dichtes und aufgepresstes 20-50 cm 
dickes Eis mit einigen groben Schollen dazwischen. 
Die Eisgrenze verläuft von Repskär bis zur Breite 
64%5' N entlang etwa der Länge 23° E und 
schwingt dann südostwärts in Richtung Ulkokalla. 
Westlich davon kommt überwiegend offenes Wasser 
vor, aber in der Skelleftea Bucht tritt in der 
Küstennähe sehr dichtes Treibeis auf.

Overview 
In the Bay of Bothnia the ice is drifting in the 
westerly directions and is loosening in the marginal 
areas. The fast ice in the northern archipelagos is 
'racturing. 
Lake Saimaa: In the northern part there is 10-35 
cm thick rotten ice, else ice-free. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: Open water. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern archipelagos there 
is 40-70 cm thick, rottening fast ice in fracturing 
phase. Farther out there is very close and heavily 
ridged 20-50 cm thick ice up to approximately the 
line Falkensgrund — Ulkokalla. Farther southwards 
open water occurs. In the southern archipelagos 
rotten ice is drifting in places, else ice-free. - 
Swedish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered with 20-60 cm thick rottening fast ice. At 
sea there is in the northeastern part mostly very 
slose and ridged 20-50 cm thick ice with heavy ice 
loes in between. The ice edge runs from Repskär 
Oo the latitude 64%45' N along about the longitude 
23° E and then swings southeastwards towards 
Jlkokalla. West of it open water occurs, but in the 
Bight of Skellefteä there is very close ice near the 
coast.
