Von Süden kommend ziehen bis Mittwoch zwei 
Tiefdruckgebiete über die Bottenvik hinweg. Der 
damit verbundene Regen und Temperaturen über 
Null führen zu einem weiterhin raschen Eisrückgang. 
Der Wind frischt zum Dienstag hin auf und dreht auf 
Nordost, so dass sich das im Nordostteil 
konzentrierte Eis etwas auflockert und nach 
Südwesten driftet.

Expected Ice Development 
During the next two to three days, two low pressure 
systems, coming from the south, will pass over the 
Bay of Bothnia. The associated rain and 
'emperatures above zero will lead to a further rapid 
ice retreat. Towards Tuesday the wind will freshen 
up and veer towards the Northeast, leading to a 
south-westerly ice drift, so that the ice in the north- 
gast corner of the Bay of Bothnia will loosen up a 
little bit.

cebreaker assistance. All ships entering harbours in the Bay of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn 
N 59° 33’ E 20° 01’) contact the VTS Gävle on VHF channel 84.
