Übersicht 
In der nördlichen Bottenvik liegt in den nördlichen 
Schären bis zu 25 cm dickes Festeis. In ge- 
schützten Buchten tritt Eis bis in die nördliche 
3Zottensee auf, die offene See ist aber im All- 
gemeinen eisfrei. Im Finnischen Meerbusen 
<xommt in der Kronstadt- und Vyborgbucht bis 
15cm dickes Eis vor, ansonsten tritt Eis nur 
vereinzelt an geschützten Orten auf. Eis findet 
man auch auf dem Mälarsee, dem Vänersee und 
dem Saimaasee sowie in geschützten Buchten 
des Rigaischen Meerbusens. 
Skagerrak, Kattegat und Beltsee 
Schwedische Küste: - Vänersee: Im Norden 
kommt in geschützten Buchten dünnes Neueis 
vor. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Schwedische Küste: - Mälarsee: Im westlichen 
Bereich kommt dünnes Festeis oder Neueis vor. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In geschützten Buchten liegt 
dünnes Eis. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären örtlich 
\eueis. Saimaasee: Im Ostteil 5-10cm dickes 
Eis. Im westlichen Teil und auf dem Saimaa 
Kanal Neueis. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen 
von St. Petersburg lockeres bis dichtes Nilas. Im 
Fahrwasser weiter westwärts kommt kompaktes 
10-15cm dickes Eis bis zur Ostspitze Kotlins vor, 
danach liegen bis zur Länge von Kronstadt

Overview 
In the northern Bay of Bothnia there is up to 25cm 
ihick fast ice in the northern archipelago. In sheltered 
Days ice is present in places all the way down to the 
northern part of the sea of Bothnia. But the open sea 
in general is ice free. In the gulf of Finland up to 15cm 
thick ice is found in the Bay of Vyborg and from 
Kronstadt towards St. Petersburg, else new ice is 
presented in some sheltered bays and in places in the 
inner archipelago. Some ice is also present in lake 
Saimaa, lake Vänern, lake Mälaren as well as in 
sheltered bays of the Gulf of Riga.

Swedish Coast: - Lake Vänern: Thin new ice is 
present in sheltered bays in the north. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Swedish coast: - Lake Mälaren: In the western part 
thin fast ice or new ice occur. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: Thin Ice is present in sheltered 
bays 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: New ice in places of the inner 
archipelago. Lake Saimaa: In the eastern part 5-10cm 
thick ice, in the western part as well as in Saimaa 
Canal there is new ice. - Russian Coast: In the 
harbours of St. Petersburg there is open to close Nilas. 
Tarther westwards on the fairway up to the eastern 
point of island Kotlin there is 10-15cm thick compact ice 
followed by stripes of very open ice up to the longitude
