Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Auf See liegt im Norden an der Küste sehr dichtes 
aufgepresstes 10-20 cm dickes Treibeis, westlich 
von Kihnu treiben Streifen mit sehr lockerem Eis, 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht liegt ein 2-4 
sm breiter 30-40 cm dicker Festeissaum, entlang der 
Ostküste verläuft eine 1-2 sm breite Rinne. 
Außerhalb davon kommt bis zur Breite der Inse! 
Xihnu dichtes 10-20 cm dickes Eis vor. Im 
\Moonsund liegt in der Küstenzone 15-30 cm dickes 
Festeis, außerhalb davon dichtes 10-20 cm dickes 
Eis. - Lettische Küste: Im Hafen Riga und im 
Fahrwasser Riga — Mersrags kommt offenes Wasser 
vor. 
Gulf of Riga 
At sea there is in the North very close ridged 10-20 
cm thick drift ice along the coast, belts of very open 
ice are drifting west of Kihnu. 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is for 2-4 
nm 30-40 cm thick fast ice, a 1-2 nm wide lead 
runs along the eastern coast. Farther out up to the 
'atitude of island Kihnu there is close 10-20 cm 
hick ice. In the coastal zone of the Moonsund 
there is 15-30 cm thick fast ice, farther off close 10- 
20 cm thick ice occurs. - Latvian Coast: In the port 
af Riga and on the fairway Riga — Mersrags there is 
apen water. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Das Eis auf See liegt nördlich der Linie Porkkala- 
Leuchtturm — Vaindlo — Bol'Soj T'uters — MoSEnyj — 
Jst-Narva. Im Eisfeld kommen große Bereiche mit 
offenem Wasser vor. 
Estnische Küste: In der Narvabucht treibt in 
Küstennähe sehr lockeres 5-10 cm dickes Eis, in der 
Kunda Bucht kommt an der Küste dunkler Nilas vor. 
Finnische Küste: In den westlichen Schären 10- 
25 cm dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon auf 2-5 sm 
'ockeres bis dichtes dünnes Eis. In den östlichen 
Schären liegt 15-30 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb 
davon tritt bis zur Linie Porkkala-Leuchtturm — 
Kalbädagrund — T'uters — Seskar sehr dichtes 10-35 
cm dickes Eis auf. Im Eisfeld kommen große 
Gebiete mit offenem Wasser vor. - Russische 
Küste: In den Häfen von St. Petersburg lockeres 
20-30 cm dickes Eis. Weiter westwärts liegt bis zur 
Länge von Kronstadt 30-45 cm dickes Eis: Zuerst 
als Festeis bis zur Länge von Petrodvorec, dann 
sehr dicht bis zur Ostspitze von Kotlin. Weiter im 
Fahrwasser kommt dichtes und lockeres 20-40 cm 
dickes Eis bis zur Länge von Kap Ustinskij, dann 
offenes Wasser bis zur Länge von Ust-Luga. Es folgt 
sehr dichtes 20-35 cm dickes Eis bis zur Länge von 
MoS$S6gnyj, dann sehr dichtes, leicht pressendes 10-25 
cm dickes Eis bis Gogland. Anschließend treibt bis 
zur Eisgrenze lockeres 10-25 cm dickes Eis. - Die 
Vyborgbucht ist mit 30-45 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Außerhalb davon kommt sehr dichtes, 
'eicht pressendes 15-30 cm dickes Eis vor. - Im 
Berkezund liegt 15-30 cm dickes Festeis, 
anschließend kommt sehr dichtes 15-35 cm dickes 
Eis vor. - Die Lugabucht ist mit 10-25 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt, außerhalb davon sehr dichtes 10- 
20 cm dickes Eis. In der Corpora Bucht liegt an der 
Küste 10-25 cm dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon 
offenes Wasser. 
Älandsee 
In geschützten Buchten und Schären kommt 
lockeres dünnes Eis oder Eisbrei vor, 
Schärenmeer 
Von südlich Isokari im Norden bis Lohm im Süden 
lieat dünnes ebenes Eis. 
Gulf of Finland 
The ice at sea is concentrated north of the line 
Porkkala lighthouse — Vaindlo — Bol'Soj T'uters — 
Mo$SEnyj —- Ust-Narva. In the ice field there are large 
areas of open water. 
Estonian Coast: Very open 5-10 cm thick ice is 
drifting near the coast in the Bay of Narva, in the 
Bay of Kunda there is at the coast dark nilas. - 
Finnish Coast: In the western archipelago there is 
‘0-25 cm thick fast ice, farther off for 2-5 nm open 
to close thin ice. In the eastern archipelago there is 
15-30 cm thick fast ice. Farther off there is very 
slose 10-35 cm thick ice up to the line Porkkala 
lighthouse — Kalbädagrund — T'uters — Seskar. 
There are large areas of open water within the ice 
field.- Russian Coast: In the harbours of St. 
Petersburg there is open 20-30 cm thick ice. Farther 
Nnestwards there is 30-45 cm thick fast ice till the 
longitude of Petrodvorec, then very close 30-45 cm 
thick ice to the eastern point of the island Koltlin. 
Farther out on the fairway there is close and open 
20-40 cm thick ice up to the longitude of Cape 
Ustinskij, then open water to the longitude of Ust- 
_uga. Farther out there is very close 20-35 cm thick 
ice to the longitude of the island MoSCEnyj, then very 
olose and slow compressed 10-25 cm thick ice to 
the longitude of Gogland. From there open 10-25 
cm thick ice occurs up to the ice edge. - The Vyborg 
Bay is covered with 30-45 cm thick fast ice. Farther 
off there is very close, slow compressed 15-30 cm 
thick ice. - In the Berkezund there is 15-30 cm thick 
fast ice. Farther off there is very close 15-35 cm thick 
ice. - The Luga Bay is covered with 10-25 cm thick 
fast ice, farther out there is very close 10-20 cm thick 
ice. In the Corpora Bay there is 10-25 cm thick fast 
ice along the coast, farther out there is open water. 
Sea of Äland 
In sheltered bays and archipelagos there is open 
thin ice or shuga. 
Archipelago Sea 
From south of Isokari in the North to Lohm in the 
South there is thin level ice.
