Schärenmeer 
Von südlich Isokari im Norden bis Lohm im Süden 
jegt dünnes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb davon treibt bis 
Isokari sehr lockeres Eis. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären 15-40 cm 
dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon kommt auf 5-10 sm 
\leues und dann auf 2-10sm dichtes dünnes Eis vor. 
: Schwedische Küste: In den inneren Buchten und 
Häfen liegt bis zu 30 cm dickes ebenes Eis oder 
Festeis, auf dem Ängermanälven 30-50 cm dickes 
Festeis. Außerhalb davon kommt zwischen 
Skagsudde und Högbonden auf 5-10 sm Breite 
dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Treibeis und Eisbrei vor. In 
der Gävle Bucht treiben Streifen mir Eisbrei- 
x«lümpchen. 
Norra Kvarken 
Auf See südlich von Nordvalen überwiegend eisfrei. 
Finnische Küste: Im Norden auf See kommt 10- 
40cm dickes, dichtes bis sehr dichtes Eis vor. 
Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 20-45 cm dickes 
Festeis, anschließend kommt bis Vaasa Leuchtturm 
offenes Wasser vor, dann dichtes Treibeis bis 10sm 
südwestlich von Norrskär. - Schwedische Küste: In 
den Buchten und Häfen entlang der Küste liegt bis 
zu 40 cm dickes Festeis. Nördlich der Breite von 
\lordvalen kommt wechselweise dichter Eisbrei, 
Reste vom festgestampften Eis und aufgepresstes 
20-40 cm dickes Eis vor. Ein weiterer Streifen mit 
dichtem Eisbrei erstreckt sich zwischen Bonden -— 
Gunvorsgrund — Utgrynnan — Norrskär. Sonst 
Kommt auf See meist offenes Wasser vor. 
Bottenvik 
Vollkommen eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind, bis 
zur Linie Kemi 2 — Oulu 1, mit 40-65 cm dicken, die 
südlichen Schären mit 20-50 cm dickem Festeis be- 
deckt. Außerhalb davon liegt im Norden zuerst auf 
4-10 sm zusammenhängendes 20-45 cm dickes Eis, 
dann sehr dichtes, teilweise übereinandergescho- 
benes 20-40 cm dickes Eis. Im Südteil schließt sich, 
südlich von Kokkola Leuchtturm, an das Festeis eine 
atwa 5sm breite Rinne an. Weiter außerhalb kommt 
sehr dichtes 10-40 cm dickes Treibeis vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30- 
70 cm, in den südlichen Schären bis zu 40 cm 
dickes Festeis. Auf See liegt im Norden sehr dichtes 
20-50 cm dickes Eis, in dem Presseisrücken 
vorkommen. Südlich von Bjuröklubb tritt sehr 
dichtes, teilweise aufgepresstes 10-40 cm dickes Eis 
auf.

Sea of Äland 
In sheltered bays and archipelagos there is open 
thin ice or shuga. 
Archipelago Sea 
From south of Isokari in the North to Lohm in the 
South there is thin level ice. Farther off to Isokari 
very open ice is drifting. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: There is 15-40 cm thick fast ice in 
‘he inner archipelago, farther off for 5-10 nm new 
ice and then for 2-10nm close thin ice occurs. - 
Swedish Coast: In the inner bays and harbours 
‘here is up to 30 cm thick level ice or fast ice, on 
Ihe Ängermanälven 30-50 cm thick fast ice. Farther 
off there is between Skagsudde and Högbonden a 
5-10 nm wide area with close 5-15 cm thick drift ice 
and shuga. In the Bight of Gävle strips of shuga are 
drifting. 
Norra Kvarken 
At sea south of Nordvalen mostly ice-free. 
Finnish Coast: In the north at sea there is 10- 
40cm thick close to very close ice. Between Vaasa 
and Ensten there is 20-45 cm thick fast ice, farther 
off there is open water till Vaasa lighthouse and 
then close drift ice to 10nm south-west of Norrskär. 
Swedish Coast: In bays and harbours along the 
coast there is up to 40 cm thick fast ice. North of 
the latitude of Nordvalen there is alternating close 
shuga, remains of brash ice barrier and ridged 20- 
40 cm thick ice. Another narrow band of close 
shuga runs between Bonden — Gunvorsgrund — 
Utgrynnan — Norrskär. Otherwise, mostly open 
water occurs at sea area. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
zovered, up to the line Kemi 2 —- Oulu 1, with 40-65 
omthick, the southern archipelagos with 20-50 cm 
‘hick fast ice. Farther out, in the northern part there 
is first for 4-10 nm consolidated 20-45 cm thick ice 
and then very close, partly rafted 20-40 cm thick 
ice. Off the fast ice in the southern part, there is a 
about 5nm wide lead southwards of Kokkola 
lighthouse. Further out there is very close 10-40 cm 
thick drift ice. - Swedish Coast: The northern 
archipelago are covered with 30-70 cm, the 
southern archipelagos with up to 40 cm thick fast 
ice. At sea there is in the North very close 20-50 
cm thick ice with ridges. Very close, partly ridged 
10-40 cm thick ice occurs south of Biuröklubb. 
Expected Ice Development 
In the next days a low pressure region over the
