40-65 cm, die südlichen mit 20-40 cm dickem Fest- 
sis bedeckt. Außerhalb davon verläuft von Raahe 
südwärts bis Norra Kvarken eine Rinne, in der dicke 
Eisschollen treiben. Anschließend liegt im Norden 
bis Merikallat zusammenhängendes 20-40 cm 
dickes Eis, weiter südwärts sehr dichtes 15-35 cm 
dickes, teilweise aufgepresstes Eis. - Schwedische 
Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30-70 cm, in den 
südlichen Schären bis zu 40 cm dickes Festeis. Auf 
See kommt im AMNorden sehr dichtes und 
zusammenhängendes bis zu 50 cm dickes Eis mit 
Presseisrücken und dickeren Schollen dazwischen 
vor. Im Süden tritt wechselweise ebenes Eis und 
sehr dichtes 15-40 cm dickes Eis mit einigen 
Presseisrücken und groben Schollen dazwischen 
auf. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Unter dem Einfluss von _vorherrschender 
Tiefdrucktätigkeit über der Norwegischen See sowie 
Über der Nordeuropa ist im nördlichen Ostseeraum 
n den nächsten vier bis fünf Tagen nur leichter bis 
mäßiger Frost zu erwarten. Die Eisbildung wird 
gering bleiben. In der Bottenvik wird das Eis auf See 
‚n der ersten Wochenhälfte mit auffrischenden 
Winden aus westlichen Richtungen zur finnischen 
Küste treiben, und die Rinne wird sich dort 
schließen, Eispressungen sind zu erwarten. Im 
Finnischen Meerbusen wird das Eis auf See im 
Nordostteil zusammengeschoben. In den Küstenge- 
wässern des südlichen Ostseeraumes wird das Eis 
deutlich abnehmen.

‘hick drifting ice floes runs from Raahe southwards 
to the Quark. Farther out in the North there is 
sonsolidated 2040 cm thick ice to Merikallat, south 
of it very close, partly ridged 15-35 cm thick ice. - 
Swedish Coast: The northern archipelago are 
covered with 30-70 cm, the southern archipelagos 
with up to 40 cm thick fast ice. At sea there is in the 
North very close consolidated up to 50 cm thick ice 
with ridges and thicker floes in between. In the 
South there is alternating level ice and very close 
15-40 cm thick ice with some ridges and heavy 
floes in between. 
Expected Ice Development 
Under the influence of the low pressure areas over 
the Norwegian Sea as well as over northern 
Europe, only light to moderate frost is to be 
expected in the northern region of the Baltic Sea 
within the next four to five days. No essential Ice 
formation is to be expected. With freshening winds 
irom westerly directions the ice at sea in the Bay of 
Bothnia will drift towards the Finnish coast during 
the first half of the week, and the lead will close 
there. Ice pressure is to be expected. In the Gulf of 
Finland the ice at sea will be compacted in the 
northeastern part. In the coastal waters of the 
southern region of the Baltic Sea ice will decrease 
considerably.
