Schärenmeer 
In den Schären liegt ebenes 5-15 cm dickes Eis, 
außerhalb davon kommt bis Lohm im Süden und 
bis Isokari im Norden Neueis vor.

Archipelago Sea 
‚n the archipelagos there is level 5-15 cm thick ice. 
Farther off there is new ice to Lohm in the South 
and to Isokari in the North. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: There is thin fast ice in the 
archipelago, farther 5-10nm of thin ice and new ice. 
- Swedish Coast: In the inner bays and harbours 
there is 10-25 cm thick level ice between 
Örnsköldsvik and Gävle. Farther off along the coast 
there is new ice and shuga. The Ängermanälv is 
covered with 15-30 cm thick fast ice. At sea ice 
free. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt dünnes 
Festeis, außerhalb davon auf 5-10sm dünnes Eis 
Jnd Neueis. - Schwedische Küste: In den inneren 
3Zuchten und Häfen zwischen Örnsköldsvik und 
Gävle liegt 10-25 cm dickes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb 
davon kommt entlang der Küste Neueis und Eisbrei 
vor. Der Ängermanälv ist mit 15-30 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt. Auf See eisfrei. 
Norra Kvarken 
Vollkommen eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 
20-30 cm dickes Festeis, anschließend kommt 
dünnes Eis oder Neueis vor. - Schwedische Küste: 
In den Buchten und Häfen entlang der Küste liegt 
10-35 cm dickes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb davon treibt 
°ockeres bis dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Eis mit Neueis. 
Bottenvik 
\ördlich 64°50'N vollkommen bedeckt, weiter 
südlich verläuft die Eisgrenze entlang der Küste, 
atwa 20sm von der finnischen und etwa 10sm von 
der schwedischen Küste entfernt. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
35-60 cm, die südlichen Schären mit 20-35 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb der Festeis- 
grenze kommt zuerst eine mit Neueis bedeckte 
Rinne gefolgt von dünnem Eis bis zur Linie Malören 
- Ulkokalla. Weiter außerhalb, nördlich etwa 
34°40'N, dann Neueis, dünnes Eis und stellenweise 
auch dickere Schollen bis 15-20sm westlich von 
\ahkiainen und Ulkokalla. Im Süden Neueis und 
dünnes Eis bis zur Breite von Kokkola. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 25- 
50 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon liegt bis 10- 
15sm südlich von Falkensgrund dichtes und sehr 
dichtes, bis zu 40cm dickes Eis. In der Skelleftea 
Zucht liegt 10-30cm dickes, dichtes Eis. Im Süden 
<ommt in Küstennähe bis zu 30cm dickes ebenes 
eis oder Festeis vor und außerhalb Neueis und 
dünnes Treibeis. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Jie Eisbildung im Bottnischen Meerbusen hält 
weiterhin an und im Finnischen Meerbusen fängt sie 
angsam wieder an. Das Eis in der Bottenvik wird in 
1ördliche Richtungen treiben wodurch sich die Rinne 
schleißt und es zu Aufschiebungen kommen kann.. 
Im südlichen Ostseeraum ändert sich die Eislage 
aicht sehr.

Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Ensten there

ice. - Swedish Coast: In bays and harbours along 
the coast there is 10-35 cm thick level ice. Farther 
off open and close 5-15 cm thick ice and new ice is 
drifting.. 
Bay of Bothnia 
North of about 64°50'N totally ice covered, to the 
south the ice edge runs along the coast, in about 
20nm distance from the Finnish coast and about 
10nm from the Swedish coast. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
zovered with 35-60 cm, the southern archipelagos 
with 20-35 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice edge 
ıhere is first a lead, which is covered by new ice. 
After the lead, north of about 64°40'N a mix of new 
ice, thin ice and in places some thicker floes up to 
15-20nm west of Nahkiainen and Ulkokalla. More 
in the south there is new ice and thin ice up to the 
latitude of Kokkola. - Swedish Coast: In the 
northern archipelago there is 25-50 cm thick fast 
ice. Farther off close to very close, up to 40cm thick 
ice is laying up to 10-15nm south of Falkensgrund. 
!'n the Bay of Skelleftea there is 10-30cm thick, 
close ice. In the south up to 30cm thick level or fast 
ice near the coast and farther out there is new ice 
and thin drift ice. 
Expected Ice Development 
The ice formation in the Gulf of Bothnia will 
continue and in the Gulf of Finland it will be resume 
again slowly. The ice in the Bay of Bothnia will drift 
'owards the north, the lead will close and some 
rafting is expected. In the southern region of the 
Baltic Sea no larger changes in the ice situation are 
expected.
