Älandsee 
In geschützten Buchten und Schären liegt dünnes 
abenes Eis oder Neueis. 
Schärenmeer 
in den Schären liegt ebenes 5-15 cm dickes Eis, 
außerhalb davon kommt bis Lohm im Süden und 
bis Isokari im Norden Neueis vor. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt dünnes Eis, 
außerhalb davon kommt Eisbildung vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den inneren Buchten und 
Häfen zwischen Ornsköldsvik und Gävle liegt 10-25 
cm dickes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb davon kommt 
antlang der Küste Neueis und Eisbrei vor. Der 
Angermanälv ist mit 15-30 cm dickem Festeis 
zedeckt. Auf See eisfrei. 
Sea of Äland 
In sheltered bays and archipelagos there is thin 
'evel ice and new ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
In the archipelagos there is level 5-15 cm thick ice. 
Farther off there is new ice to Lohm in the South 
and to Isokari in the North. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: There is thin ice in the archipelago, 
farther out ice formation occurs. - Swedish Coast: 
In the inner bays and harbours there is 10-25 cm 
thick level ice between Ornsköldsvik and Gävle. 
Farther off along the coast there is new ice and 
shuga. The Ängermanälv is covered with 15-30 cm 
thick fast ice. At sea ice free. 
Norra Kvarken 
Vollkommen eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 
20-30 cm dickes Festeis, an seinem Rand 
festgestampftes Eis. Anschließend kommt dünnes 
Eis oder Neueis vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den 
Buchten und Häfen entlang der Küste liegt 10-35 cm 
dickes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb davon kommt dünnes 
sbenes Eis oder dichtes bis sehr dichtes 5-10 cm 
dickes Eis vor. 
Bottenvik 
Die Eisgrenze verläuft etwa auf der Breite 65N. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
35-60 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb der 
Festeisgrenze liegt zwischen Oulu und Repskär sehr 
dichtes 15-45 cm dickes Treibeis und zwischen 
Kemi 2 und Kemi 1 5-15 cm dickes ebenes Eis. 
Anschließend kommt etwa bis zur Linie 
Norströmsgrund — Qulun Portti — Raahe sehr dichtes 
5-15 cm dickes Treibeis und Trümmereis, weiter 
außerhalb etwa bis zur Linie Falkensgrund — Raahe 
Neueisbildung vor. In den südlichen inneren 
Schären 20-35 cm dickes Eis, außerhalb davon 
treibt Örtlich Trümmereis und auf 5-10 sm kommt 
Eisbildung vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den 
nördlichen Schären 25-50 cm dickes Festeis. 
Außerhalb davon liegt bis zur Eisgrenze auf der 
Linie Leskär — Oulu 1 dichtes bis sehr dichtes 10-30 
cm dickes Eis. Weiter südwärts kommt bis Norra 
Kvarken entlang der Küste lockeres dünnes 
Treibeis und Neueis vor. 
Norra Kvarken 
Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Ensten there 
s 20-30 cm thick fast ice, at its edge brash ice 
barrier. Farther off there is thin ice or new ice. - 
Swedish Coast: In bays and harbours along the 
coast there is 10-35 cm thick level ice. Farther off 
there is thin level ice or close to very close 5-10 cm 
thick ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
The ice edge runs about along the latitude 65N. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered with 35-60 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast 
ce edge there is between Oulu and Repskär very 
close 15-45 cm thick ice and between Kemi 2 and 
KXemi 1 level 5-15 cm thick ice. Farther out there is 
to about the line Norströmsgrund — Oulun Portti — 
Raahe very close 5-15 cm thick drift ice and brash 
.ce, then approximately to the line Falkensgrund — 
Raahe new ice formation. In the southern inner 
archipelagos there is 20-35 cm thick ice, farther out 
brash ice is drifting in places and ice formation 
occurs for 5-10 nm. - Swedish Coast: In the 
1orthern archipelago there is 25-50 cm thick fast 
ce. Farther off there is up to the ice edge at the 
ine Leskär — Qulu 1 close to very close 10-30 cm 
ihick ice. Farther out there is along the coast 
southwards to Norra Kvarken open thin drift ice and 
new ice. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die langsame Eisbildung im nördlichen Ostseeraum 
wird bis zum Wochenende andauern. In den 
nächsten drei Tagen ist in der Bottenvik mit einer 
westlichen Eisdrift zu rechnen. Die Eisverhältnisse 
m südlichen Ostseeraum werden sich vorerst nicht 
wesentlich verändern.

Expected Ice Development 
Slow ice formation in the northern region of the 
Baltic Sea will continue till week-end. During the 
next three days westerly ice drift is to be expected 
in the Bay of Bothnia. The ice conditions in the 
southern region of the Baltic Sea will not change 
very much for the time being.
