Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten 
xommt 10-25 cm dickes Festeis, weiter außerhalb 
bis Norrskär sehr lockeres Treibeis und Neueis vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den Buchten und Häfen 
entlang der Küste sowie um Holmöarna liegt 10-25 
cm dickes ebenes Eis, auf See kommt Newueis, 
Eisbrei und Eisbildung vor.

Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Ensten there 
is 10-25 cm thick fast ice. Farther out to Norrskär 
there is very open drift ice and new ice. - Swedish 
Coast: In bays and harbours along the coast and 
around Holmöarna there is 10-25 cm thick level ice. 
at sea there is new ice, shuga and ice formation. 
Bottenvik 
Die Eisgrenze verläuft etwa auf der Linie Nygrän — 
Norströmsgrund — 19 sm nordwestlich von 
\ahkiainen — Tankar. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
25-50 cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb der 
Festeisgrenze liegt bis zur Länge von Ulkokalla 
dünnes ebenes Eis und Neueis. Anschließend 
<ommt bis zur Linie Norströmsgrund — Nahkiainen 
sehr dichtes 15-25 cm dickes Treibeis und Neueis 
vor. In den südlichen inneren Schären 10-30 cm 
dickes Eis, außerhalb davon treibt lockeres dünnes 
Eis und Neueis. - Schwedische Küste: In den 
1ördlichen Schären 20-50 cm dickes Festeis. In den 
Einfahrten nach Pitei und Luleä liegt dichtes 
Treibeis mit festgestampftem Eis an seinem Rand. 
Außerhalb davon bis etwa der Linie Norströmsgrund 
- Malören sehr dichtes 10-20 cm dickes Eis mit 
einigen gröberen Eisschollen dazwischen. In den 
südlichen Schären und dicht an der Küste tritt 10-30 
cm dickes ebenes Eis auf. 
Bay of Bothnia 
The ice edge runs along about the line Nygrän — 
Norströmsgrund —- 19 mm northwest of Nahkiainen 
— Tankar. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered with 25-50 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast 
ice edge there is to the longitude of Ulkokalla thin 
level ice and new ice. Farther out to the line 
Norströmsgrund — Nahkiainen there is very close 
'5-25 cm thick drift ice and new ice. In the 
southern inner archipelagos there is 10-30 cm thick 
ice, farther out open thin ice and new ice is drifting. 
- Swedish Coast: In the northern archipelago there 
is 20-50 cm thick fast ice. In the entrances to Piteä 
and Luleä there is close drift ice with brash ice 
barriers at its edge. Farther off up to about the line 
Norströmsgrund — Malören very close 10-20 cm 
thick ice with some thicker ice floes in between. In 
the southern archipelagos and farther out close to 
the coast there is 10-30 cm thick level ice. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Ein Hochdruckgebiet über Nordrussland wird das 
Wetter im Ostseeraum im Verlauf dieser Woche 
bestimmen. Bei schwachen Winden und mäßigem 
Jauerfrost wird sich die Eisbildung im nördlichen 
3Zottnischen Meerbusen fortsetzen, im Finnischen 
Veerbusen und an den Küsten des Rigaischen 
Veerbusens setzt die Eisbildung in der zweiter 
Wochenhälfte wieder ein. 
Expected Ice Development 
The weather in the region of the Baltic Sea will be 
set by a high pressure area over northern Russia in 
the course of this week. At weak winds and 
moderate permanent frost ice formation in the 
northern Gulf of Bothnia will continue. In the Gulf of 
5inland and on the coasts of the Gulf of Riga ice 
formation will start again within the second half of 
this week.
