Fahrwassern zu dem Hafen dünnes Eis in 
geschützten Buchten, örtlich treibt Neueis. In der 
Dänischen Wiek liegt etwa 4 cm dickes Randeis im 
Südostteil, sonst ist der Greifswalder Bodden eisfrei. 
Auf dem südlichen Peenestrom 5-10 cm dickes 
Randeis, Fahrwasser ist offen. Im Kleinen Haff ist 
die Nordhälfte mit dichtem bis sehr dichtem, 
teilweise üÜübereinandergeschobenen 10-12 cm 
dicken Eis bedeckt, im Südteil tritt 5-10 cm dickes 
Randeis und sehr lockeres Treibeis auf. Auf dem 
Peenefluß kommt offenes Wasser vor. - Polnische 
Küste: Im Stettiner Haff und im Fahrwasser 
Szezecin — Swinoujscie kommt dichtes bis lockeres 
10-15 cm dickes Eis vor. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Schwedische Küste: In einigen geschützten 
Buchten und Schären kommt dünnes ebenes Eis 
oder Neueis vor. Mälarsee: Im westlichen und 
zentralen Teil liegt 5-20 cm dickes Festeis. Weiter 
Östlich kommt in den Buchten dünnes ebenes Eis 
vor. Russische Küste: In der Zufahrt nach 
Kaliningrad liegt 10-15 cm dickes Festeis. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht liegt 12-15 cm 
dickes Festeis mit einigen offenen Stellen und 
Schmelzwasserlöchern, außerhalb davon dichtes 
Treibeis. Im Moonsund kommt in der östlichen 
Küstenzone 5-15 cm dickes Festeis, sonst dichtes 
bis lockeres Treibeis vor. - Lettische Küste: Eisfrei. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Kundabucht kommt dicht 
an der Küste Neueis vor. - Finnische Küste: In den 
inneren Schären liegt dünnes Eis. - Russische 
Küste: In den Häfen von St. Petersburg lockeres bis 
dichtes 15-25 cm dickes Eis. Weiter westwärts 
kommt im Fahrwasser 15-30 cm dickes Eis vor: bis 
zur Länge von Petrodvorec lockeres bis dichtes 
Treibeis, weiter bis zur Westspitze von Kotlin sehr 
dichtes Treibeis und dann bis zur Länge des 
Leuchtturms Tolbuchin dichtes Eis. Anschließend 
bis zur Länge des Leuchtturms Shepelevskij kommt 
dichtes bis lockeres 10-20 cm dickes Eis vor. Weiter 
westwärts treibt bis zur Lange der Insel Seskar sehr 
lockeres Eis. - Die Vyborgbucht ist mit 15-30 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt, außerhalb davon offenes 
Wasser. Im Berkezund kommt sehr lockeres dünnes 
Eis vor. 
Älandsee 
In einigen geschützten Buchten und Schären an der 
schwedischen Küste liegt dünnes ebenes Eis. 
Schärenmeer 
In den Schären kommt örtlich Neueis vor. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt dünnes Eis. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den inneren Buchten und 
Montag, den 26.01.2009

sheltered bays, new ice is drifting in places. In the 
Dänische Wiek there is about 4 cm thick ice on the 
southeastern coast, else the Greifswalder Bodden 
is ice-free. On the southern Peenestrom there is 
about 5-10 cm thick ice in the marginal areas, the 
‘airway is open. In the Kleines Haff there is close to 
very close 10-12 cm thick, partly rafted ice in the 
northern part and 5-10 cm thick ice at the coast as 
well as very open ice off the coast in the southern 
part. On the Peenefluß there open water. - Polish 
Coast: In Stettiner Haff and on the fairway 
Szezecin — Swinoujscie there is close to open 10- 
15 cm thick ice. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Swedish coast: In some sheltered bays and 
archipelagos there is thin level ice or new ice. Lake 
Mälaren: In the western and central part there is 5- 
20 cm thick fast ice. Farther eastward there is thin 
level ice in the sheltered bays. - Russian Coast: In 
the entrance to Kaliningrad there is 10-15 cm thick 
fast ice. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is 12-15 
cm thick fast ice with some open areas and thaw 
1oles. Farther out there is close drift ice. In the 
gastern coastal zone of the Moonsund there is 5-15 
cm thick fast ice, else close to open thin drift ice 
occurs. - Latvian Coast: Ice-free. 
Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: In the Bay of Kunda there is new 
ice Close to the coast. - Finnish Coast: In the inner 
archipelago there is thin ice. - Russian Coast: In 
the harbours of St. Petersburg there is open to close 
15-25 cm thick ice. Farther westwards on the fairway 
the ice thickness is 15-30 cm: there is open to close 
drift ice to the longitude of Petrodvorec, very close 
drift ice farther out to the western point of Kotlin and 
close ice up to the longitude of lighthouse Tolbuchin. 
Farther off there is 10-20 cm thick open to close ice 
up to the longitude of lighthouse Shepelevskij. 
Farther westwards there is up to the longitude of 
sland Seskar very open ice. - The Vyborg Bay is 
covered with 15-30 cm thick fast ice, farther out open 
water occurs. In the Berkezund there is very open 
ice. 
Sea of Äland 
In some sheltered bays and archipelagos along the 
Swedish coast there is thin level ice. 
Archipelago Sea 
In the archipelagos there is new ice, in places. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: There is thin ice in the archipelago.
