In der Einfahrt nach Holmsund kommt teilweise sehr 
dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Eis vor.

Bottenvik 
Die Eisgrenze des sehr dichten bis dichten Eises 
verläuft auf der Linie Bjuröklubb — Punkt 64%40'N 
23E — 15 sm westlich von Nahkiainen — Kokkola. 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30-55 
om dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon erstreckt sich 
von Malören über Kemi 2 südwärts eine etwa 15 sm 
Doreite, mit dünnem Eis bedeckte Rinne. Westlich der 
Rinne liegt sehr dichtes 20-45 cm dickes aufgepres- 
stes Eis und 10-20 cm dickes übereinandergescho- 
venes Eis. Südlich davon treibt auf See dünnes sehr 
lockeres Eis. In den südlichen Schären kommt 10-20 
om dickes Festeis vor, außerhalb davon kommt bis 
zum Kokkola-Leuchtturm Neueis vor. Schwedische 
Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 25-60 cm dickes 
7esteis. Außerhalb davon liegt im Nordwesten ein 
20-30 sm breites Gebiet aus sehr dichtem 15-40 cm 
dicken Treibeis mit zusammen-gefrorenen groben 
Schollen dazwischen. Ostlich davon kommt zuerst 
10-25 cm dickes, teilweise übereinandergescho- 
Denes Eis, dann sehr dichtes 20-30 cm dickes Eis 
vor. Zwischen Bjuröklubb und Umeä tritt entlang der 
Küste kompaktes 5-15 cm dickes Eis auf. 
Bay of Bothnia 
The ice edge of very close to close ice runs along 
the line Bjuröklubb — point 6440'N 23E —- 15 nm 
west of Nahkiainen — Kokkola. Finnish Coast: In 
the northern archipelago 30-55 cm thick fast ice. 
Farther off from Malören over Kemi 2 and farther 
southwards there is an about 15 nm wide lead, 
covered by thin ice. West of the lead there is very 
close 20-45 cm thick ridged ice and 10-20 cm thick 
‚afted ice. At sea south of it thin very open ice is 
drifting. In the southern archipelago there is 10-20 
cm thick fast ice, farther out new ice to Kokkola 
'ighthouse. Swedish Coast: In the northern 
archipelago fast ice, 25-60 cm thick. Farther off in 
the northwestern part there is a 20-30 nm wide area 
of very close 15-40 cm thick drift ice with 
consolidated heavy floes in between. Farther 
sastwards there is first 10-25 cm thick, partly rafted 
ice, then very close 20-30 cm thick ice. Between 
Bjuröklubb and Umeä there is compact 5-15 cm 
thick ice along the coast. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Ein Tief über den Baltischen Staaten zieht langsam 
nordostwärts. Auf seiner Rückseite fließt mit 
nordöstlichen Winden vorerst mäßig kalte Luft in den 
nördlichen Ostseeraum ein. In der Bottenvik und im 
Sstlichen Finnischen Meerbusen wird das Eis 
langsam südwestwärts treiben, die Eisverhältnisse 
werden sich aber in den nächsten zwei Tagen nicht 
wesentlich verändern. 
Expected Ice Development 
A low over the Baltic States moves slowly 
northeastwards. On its rear side first moderate cold 
air is penetrating with northeasterly winds over the 
northern region of the Baltic Sea. In the Bay of 
Bothnia and in the eastern Gulf of Finland, ice will 
slowly drift southwestwards, but the ice conditions 
will not change very much during the next two days.
