Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Gäsgrund 
'ritt 5-20 cm dickes Festeis auf. Schwedische 
Küste: In der Einfahrt nach Holmsund kommt 
dünnes Eis, sonst offenes Wasser vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
30-45 cm dickes Festeis. Anschließend kommt von 
Kemi 3 bis etwa 6 sm südwestlich Kemi 1 10-30 cm 
dickes sehr dichtes Eis vor. Außerhalb Oulu kommt 
von Pensaskari bis Oulu 4 5-20 cm dickes sehr 
dichtes Eis, dann bis Oulu 1 dünnes sehr lockeres 
Treibeis vor. Außerhalb Raahe bis Heikinkari liegt 
dünnes sehr dichtes Eis, anschließend treibt bis etwa 
Aaahe-Leuchtturm dünnes sehr lockeres Eis. Die 
zisgrenze verläuft ungefähr von 10 sm südwestlich 
Malören über Oulu 1 bis etwa Raahe-Leuchtturm. In 
den südlichen Schären liegt dünnes Eis. 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 
7esteis, 25-45 cm dick Außerhalb davon liegt ein 
oreites Gebiet mit ebenem und sehr dichtem 15-30 
cm dicken Eis. In der Skellefteäa Bucht kommt in den 
inneren Schären ebenes Eis vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
zin umfangreiches Tiefdruckgebiet über dem 
Arktischen Ozean zieht langsam ostwärts. Auf seiner 
Aückseite strömt in der zweiten Wochenhälfte mit 
nordwestlichen bis nördlichen Winden polare Kaltluft 
in den Ostseeraum ein, die dann zum Ende der 
Woche unter Hochdruckeinfluss gelangt. In den 
nächsten drei Tagen ist im nördlichen Ostseeraum 
mit einer Östlichen bis südöstlichen Eisdrift und 
7ressungen gegen die Luvküsten zu rechnen. Ab 
Jonnerstag wird im n6ördlichen Bottnischen 
Meerbusen und im östlichen Finnischen Meerbusen 
sowie an den Küsten des Rigaischen Meerbusens 
Eisbildung wieder einsetzen.

Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago

1o Oulu 4 there is 5-20 cm thick very close ice, then 
hin very open drift ice occurs to Oulu 1. Off Raahe 
hin very close ice to Heikinkari, farther out to about 
Raahe lighthouse thin very open ice is drifting. The 
ce edge runs approximately from 10 nm southwest 
af Malören via Oulu 1 to approximately Raahe 
ighthouse. In the southern archipelago there is thin 
ce. Swedish Coast: In the northern archipelago 
last ice, 25-45 cm thick. Farther off there is a wide 
area with level ice and very close 15-30 cm thick 
ce. In the inner archipelagos of the Bight of 
Skellefteä level ice occurs. 
Expected Ice Development 
An extensive depression over Arctic Ocean is 
slowly moving eastwards. On its rear side the cold 
polar air will penetrate with northwesterly to 
northerly winds over the Baltic Sea during the 
second half of the week and, by the end of the 
week it will come under the influence of the high 
pressure. Within the next three days, the ice in the 
1orthern region of the Baltic Sea will drift eastwards 
to southeastwards, and it will be under pressure 
against the windward coasts. From Thursday, ice 
formation is to be expected in the northern Gulf of 
Bothnia and in the eastern Gulf of Finland as well 
as in the coastal areas of the Gulf of Riga.
