Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
Srtlich dünnes Eis vor. Schwedische Küste: Der 
nördliche Ängermanälv ist mit 10-20 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Nagelprick 
liegt dünnes Eis. Schwedische Küste: In der 
Einfahrt zu Holmsund und in geschützten Buchten 
kommt dünnes Eis vor. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago there is 
‘hin ice in places. Swedish Coast: The northern 
Ängermanälv is covered with 10-20 cm thick fast 
ce. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Nagelprick there is 
thin ice. Swedish Coast: In the entrance to 
Holmsund and in sheltered bays there is thin ice. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
20-35 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon bis Kemi- 
1 kommt Neueis vor. Zwischen Oulu bis westlich von 
Merikallat tritt 10-30 cm dickes sehr dichtes, teilweise 
aufgepresstes Eis und Neueis auf. Außerhalb Rahe 
'ritt Neueis auf. Die Eisgrenze verläuft etwa von 
Aepskär über Malören und Kemi-1 zum Leuchtturm 
3aahe. In den südlichen Schären liegt dünnes Eis 
und es bildet sich neues Eis. Schwedische Küste: 
In den nördlichen inneren Schären Festeis, 15-35 cm 
dick. Außerhalb davon kommen wechselweise 
Bereiche mit dichtem und lockerem 5-20 cm dicken 
Eis, Neueis oder offenem Wasser vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In der Bottenvik drückt am Anfang starker Wind aus 
S bis SO dass Eis nach Norden. Heute Nachmittag 
zieht dann aber das Zentrum eines Tiefs über die 
Bottenvik, was zuerst zu wechselnden Winden führt, 
die dann im Laufe des Freitags über NW und W 
wieder auf Süd drehen. In der Nacht zum Samstag 
zieht dann wieder ein Tiefdruckzentrum über die 
Bottenvik, mit entsprechender Winddrehung und 
Eisdrift. In der gesamten Zeit herrscht in der 
Bottenvik leichter bis mäßiger Frost, was zu etwas 
Neueisbildung führt. Weiter im Süden kommt der 
Nind aus eher westlichen Richtungen und führt dis 
-reitag warme Luft heran. Nur im Finischen 
Meerbusen kommen am Anfang eher südliche Winde 
vor und die etwas kälteren Temperaturen liegen um 
den Gefrierpunkt. Zum Samstag wird es dann auch 
in der Bottensee und im Finnischen Meerbusen leicht 
Frostig. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
20-35 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is new 
ice to Kemi 1. Off Oulu to west of Merikallat there is 
10-30 cm thick very close, partly ridged ice as well 
as new ice. There is new ice off Raahe. The ice 
edge runs approximately from Repskär via Malören 
and Kemi-1 to Raahe lighthouse. In the southern 
archipelago there is thin ice and new ice is forming. 
Swedish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
fast ice, 15-35 cm thick. Farther off there are areas 
With alternating close and open 5-20 cm thick ice, 
new ice or open water. 
Expected Ice Development 
In the Bay of Bothnia in the beginning there is 
strong southerly to south-easterly wind, which 
pushes the ice northwards. Today in the afternoon 
the centre of a low will pass over the Bay of 
Bothnia, this leads to changing winds, which in the 
course of Friday will veer over north-west and west 
to south. In the night to Saturday the next low will 
pass over the Bay of Bothnia, with the 
sorresponding wind veering and ice drift. During all 
time there will be light to moderate frost in the Bay 
of Bothnia, so some new ice formation will occur. 
Further south the wind will blow predominantly from 
the west, bringing warmer air into the region. Only 
°n the Gulf of Finland there will be in the beginning 
more southerly winds and lower temperature 
around zero. On Saturday light frost will again come 
to the Sea of Bothnia and the Gulf of Finland.
