Übersicht 
Das Eis in der Bottenvik wird weiterhin durch 
südliche Winde nordwärts gedrückt, sonst haben 
sich die Eisverhältnisse seit gestern nicht wesentlich 
verändert. Im historischen Vergleich ist die jetzige 
Bedeckung sehr gering. In einem durchschnittlichen 
Jahr sollte zu dieser Zeit schon die gesamte 
Bottenvik eisbedeckt sein, es liegt jetzt aber nur im 
nördlichen Teil Eis, welches im Vergleich auch noch 
dünner ist. Es kann dieses Jahr zwar, bei ent- 
sprechenden Frostperioden, noch zu einem mäßigen 
Tiswinter kommen, aber es ist unwahrscheinlich, 
dass es zu einen starken Eiswinter kommt. 
Skagerrak und Kattegat 
Schwedische Küste: Vänersee: An der Nordküste 
tritt zwischen Karlstad und Kristinehamn dünnes 
Eis auf. 
Overview 
The southerly winds are still pressing the ice in the 
Bay of Bothnia northwards. Otherwise, ice 
sonditions have not changed very much since 
yesterday. Compared to other years the actual ice 
3ituation is very weak. At this time of the year 
10ormally the whole Bay of Bothnia is covered with 
‘ice, whereas now only the northernmost part is ice 
covered. And in addition the ice is also thinner then 
in normal years. It is still possible that the situation, 
with enough periods with strong frost, will evolve 
into a moderate ice winter, but the possibility that it 
will evolve into a strong winter is very small. 
Skagerrak and Kattegat 
Sweden: Lake Vänern: On the northern coast 
between Karlstad and Kristinehamn there is thin 
ice. 
Westliche und Südliche Ostsee 
Deutsche Küste: Im Stettiner Haffs tritt in der nördl- 
ichen Region dichtes dünnes, zum Teil morsches Eis 
auf. Polnische Küste: Zalew Wislany ist mit dünnem 
Eis bedeckt, und im Nordteil des Stettiner Haffs 
kommt dünnes Eis vor. Russische Küste: Das 
Kurische Haff ist mit dünnem Eis bedeckt. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht liegt morsches 
-esteis, 5km breit, mit Spalten und Presseisrücken. 
‚m Moonsund treten in Küstennähe örtlich kleinere 
zisbruchstücke auf, weiter außerhalb offenes 
Wasser 
Western and Southern Baltic 
German Coast: In the northern region of the 
Stettiner Haff close thin, partly rotten ice occurs. 
Polish Coast: Zalew Wislany is covered with thin 
ce, and thin ice occurs in the northern part of Zalew 
Szczecinski. Russian Coast: Kurskij Zaliv is 
covered with thin ice. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is 5km 
wide rotten fast ice with cracks and ridges. In the 
coastal zone of Moonsund there are small ice 
cakes in places, farther out open water.
